Not climbing, that was the good mileage on the flats. Headwind, cold temps and 45k lbs of porky pig in the back. For 1300 miles so far on this trip its ticking in at 5.7mpg overall....my worst trip so far.
For LTT, a 2012 dd15 10 speed Cascadia.luvtotruck Thanks this. -
I had similar "allowances" in previous life/business..... it was however, tied to prices going the other direction. So, just a small mind set change required here. Thank you.

I dnt know if y'all are allowed to, but I70 ex.247 in St. Louis, fuel "less" tax is goin for $3.32/gal.
The Challenger and Sharpp Thank this. -
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday, Soule_Man was spinning a tale of woe about Wyoming blizzards and Nebraska flooding. I ran into a little bit of blowing snow and 55 mph speed limits in WY, but Nebraska was a beautiful, sunny day; complete with tailwind! I averaged 8.8 mpg for 647 miles from Rawlins to Percival, Iowa. I ran most of that at 66-68 mph. Tailwinds are the bomb, lol.
I got a trip update yesterday as I left the shipper. Instead of going to Shepardsville, IN for a nice 10 am Friday delivery, they changed my destination to a warehouse in Franklin, IN. Not bad you say, only a 15 mile difference? Well, the delivery appointment was changed too. Now it's due Friday morning at 01:30!The Challenger Thanks this. -

I ran about 610 miles today at 7.8 mpg. If you get the chance, I highly recommend Highway 36 across northern Missouri. There was very little traffic and only two stoplights between St. Joseph and the Illinois line. This route is also much less hilly than I-70!
Tonight I'm taking an 8 hour sleeper break in Whiteland, IN before heading down to Franklin for my 01:30 delivery. I got a pre-plan for tomorrow at 10 am in Shelbyville, (my original destination) going to Houston for Sunday at noon. That will get me over 2,500 miles since Tuesday afternoon. I'm currently sitting on 8.0 mpg on the Qualcomm for over 1,500 miles. With my hours available, I could have a 3,500+ mile week! The Challenger, DADof3 and luvtotruck Thank this.
