When I put my tractor and trailer in the T/A garage last night, it was covered in 1/2 inch of ice! I needed a new trailer tire, but I didn't mind thawing out and dripping gallons of ice water down the mechanic's neck, lol. I picked up a loaded trailer at our OKC drop yard this morning. My previous load was just over 11k pounds and this one is 42k!

The north wind kept temperatures and mpgs low all day. The roads were pretty clear until I got to Santa Rosa, NM. From there to Moriarty it was a mix of snow and ice with traffic slowing to 40 or so. In Texas on I-40 around mile 31 there was the remains of a horrific crash. I saw five semis at the scene with cleanup crews picking up cargo. Eastbound 40 was still shut down there at noon and the accident happened around midnight. According to the accident report at: http://www.thepampanews.com/police_and_fire/article_9b3de2e6-5474-11e3-a440-0019bb30f31a.html there were nine semis involved and three fatalities. Let's be careful out there!

I should make it to Phoenix tomorrow. Hopefully this storm is all done and I can get warmed up!

Unless your weather service says it is mine says about Sunday night! Drive safe. 17 South is going to be busy with Snow Goers who went to play in the white stuff from here in Phoenix, if my wife didn't have to work, we would take our gangsters and play in the white stuff!. Drive safe Bro.

And that unusual item on your final bill TECHNECKICE, for $320.96, was for ice down the tech's neck. ;)

    luvtotruck and Sharpp Thank this.

Truckers and POV drivers should be reminded that in bad weather, it's perfectly acceptable to slow down. POV drivers should also be reminded that it's perfectly acceptable and smart NOT to pass just because you can go faster than us. Really.

This is Turbojet's better half... Annie, hi! We are on our way up 95 to Pottsville PA. In SC now, just saw another JCT driver at a rest area, shining up his wheels! If we had time, he could've done ours too! Had to grab a shot, nice job, they sure were shiny!

Driving up from FL last night we passed at least a dozen deer standing right on the side of 95, so glad none of them decided to run across the road. Tim is considering buying a deer repellant grill now!

I think I would invest in one of those Bambi Guards,:yes2557: Those Fl. deer are educated, They are in a conservative state! Its the ones in the Liberal states that are not so bright! or Maybe they were waiting for the DOT to put up the "Deer Crossing" sign? Thus making it legal for them to cross! :biggrin_25512:

Bambi Guard sounds a lot better than what Tim was calling it.... Deer Slayer! Didn't see any tonight, they were mostly down in GA and SC.

Made it to Jessup MD, at the TA, just got here at 11 pm. Tim says to tell y'all he got 6.5 mpg today. 7.3 mpg since the last QC reset. He drove 606 today. And boy, is it cold up here! 86 degrees when we left FL yesterday, 1056 miles ago.... it's about 26 degrees here right now! Bundle up.
