Where can I find the DOE's weekly fuel surcharge online?
DISREGARD. After doing some checking, I learned the government doesn't set the surcharge; individual companies do, so there won't be only one.Last edited: Dec 16, 2013

Lol. Now I'm blushing!
We get a weekly message with the average fuel prices every Monday. I deleted mine already, but I know that the surcharge is $.43/mile for us this week. I think that JCT pegged the average at about $3.87/gal or so. Anyone still have that message? The numbers at this site seem to match ours: http://www.truckmiles.com/FuelPrices.asp They have the national avg at $3.873
For those of you running with companies that don't pay your fuel taxes, this site also splits out the prices without the tax for easier comparison. -
Where are all the JCT'ers? They must be fighting the weather, I hope it is in a good way and not on here because something happened, Stay safe we will hear from you when you get out of this CRAP! Take Care Till we hear from you again, Stay Safe. There is not a load that can't wait due to weather!

JCT stared processing my application yesterday. So far, so good. Hope to have an answer later this week!
DADof3 and Trafficcontrolxl Thank this. -
Sharpp, Looking at that site certainly tells me why you go into some states and leave those states without getting fuel there! Your saving is huge.
So break this down with the company paying your fuel taxes? You get $.90 for each mile based on what? and also the FSC so then does the company withhold the fuel taxes? And how does that work? you drive a certain amount of miles in a state and that is the taxes? Or what? I know some of the answers to some of these questions but there may be lookie Lou's that may be looking to see what is going on that may not go all the way back through this thread. Thanks Stay safe. -
.90 cpm and fuel surcharge are based on dispatch miles, empty and loaded. The company pays road usage taxes based on the miles we driver through each state. With our program we don't need to worry about each states tax rate,, only with purchasing each gallon at the lowest retail price.
