I hope it goes well for you. I filled out app Christmas Eve. Recruiter asked me to fill it out now so she can go over it to see if I missed anything and to make sure that I qualify as it is going to be a couple months before I make the move.

I live up north in a small town and I don't think there is much freight coming into the area more like just passing through

We deliver a lot of freight in California on I-80 and south. Places like Oakland, Tracy, Stockton, etc. I haven't personally delivered anything up north, but then I don't NEED to get up north either.

I live up north of 80 about 3 hours or so. I don't mind a deadhead home but just hope it wouldn't be a problem getting there

Ask the company about how they'll get you home. I routinely deadhead 200+ miles when I go home. . . I have a little bit longer drive than Stockton to Redding. Also, there is the potential for drive-bys with the freight going to Portland and north out of L.A. and Casa Grande. If you're staying out for 4 weeks at a time, a 200 mile deadhead won't break the bank.

Sharpp i got one for you I have been over in Austrlia running and looking at come home in two months reading your post I like what you are saying as over here I run my average week is over 4000 miles at 36 cents a mile as a driver but we don't worry about fuel to much i can tell you about 6 mile to gallon so as a driver after tax i make 1300 to 1800 with 6 nights at $50.00 in that so money is ####

I usually like to stay out 4-6 weeks with the occasional trip home for the night in between now and then. I live about 25 miles west of Redding and don't have room for a trailer at the house just a truck so that might also be an issue not being able to have a trailer with me unless I could just bobtail hhome from Stockton or the sacramento

Getting you into the lathrop to Stockton area is really easy. We have 3 loads a day into mclanes in Stockton alone, coming out of Oklahoma .

Oh, how I wish I'd met JCT's minimum OTR-by-state requirements.

Hubby and I aren't with JCT... The loop I'm on now gets us by the house weekly, but our lease is up in May/June so I'm watching options... I see a lot of posted runs from coast to coast... Miles interest me :) but so does seeing my home!
