    Just a quick hello...

After mulling over the next move for my burgeoning trucking career, JCT had been near the top of my list, and it ultimately ended up being an easy choice in making. Thanks go out to Sharpp, as well as Terry for their informative insight into life at JCT. This thread contains a lot of great info, and was in the end, the kind of info I was looking for in making the jump to JCT.

So I've applied, and been accepted to JCT. After a few thousand mile Greyhound journey this weekend, I'll be in orientation next Monday. Although I don't want to flood Sharpp's thread with too much redundant information, I will post updates on my own progress from time to time. If nothing else, my own insight added here will either quiet some of the naysayers, or encourage them. Either way, I look forward to my own personal journey here, and hopefully I can be a productive member of the JCT community.

    Looking forward to it. :biggrin_1square2:

about 1 year ago now I was on here researching JCT, thinking about driving for them... A year later and I could not be happier, it is a perfect fit. I love the miles, the people in the office, and my DM. I can honestly say, he makes me feel as though he works for me. I am home when I want to be, and I get all the miles I want.. it has been am experience, and I have had a lot to learn, with a lot yet to learn about leasing a truck. I signed on January 23 2013. Think I was smart with my first truck, a 2010 prostar with a payment I was comfortable with...I did good with that truck and got confident enough to where in june I upgraded to my 2014 Cascadia. not only am I happy to be driving for JCT but in a lot of ways it has made me a better person. I handle situations better and am a more confident person. Every one around me, my friends and family have noticed the difference in me since I started working here. Coming to work here was the best career decision I could have made.. before coming here I would ask JCT drivers I would meet on the road how they liked working here.. they would almost always answer.. " I love working here " now I can that, I love working for JCT

I'm starting to hear more about the automatics as we get them on the road. They are equipped with an upgraded dash versus the 10-speeds. The latest batch of new trucks came with Dynasys APUs (http://www.dynasysapu.com/) instead of the Thermo King, and have refrigerators installed. I know one driver who got an automatic today, and I'll forward along any info that I get. So far, it sounds really good!

After having driven the I-90 Parking Lot through Chicago for too long, my left leg would love an automatic!

I know no company is perfect for everybody. However reading comments like this and hearing from my own recruits, telling me how they wished they had made the decision to come over sooner is what this is all about. I can't speak for every driver that gets involved in recruiting, but for Sharpp and myself the money is a minor factor. The major factor is to give back and to reinforce to ourselves the simple lessons we sometimes move away from all while helping someone newer than ourselves.
So anybody reading this or the other threads, if you choose to join us at JCT or join another outfit find yourself a mentor to help make the transition of a new company that much easier. No need in trying to reinvent the wheel.

Well after a little wait on hold then talking to a recruiter (though I didn't catch her name, she spoke to quite) I will be sending my app in later today or tomorrow and go from there. You guys might get another crazy from Misery joining you all.
Oh if anyone is in Minnesota or Iowa watch for the wind. Supposed to have some pretty good gusts out there again today.
Have a great day out there and keep the rubber on the road.
