Yeah I am really glad that they do. Wouldn't want to sit all day down there doing those instead of learning how things actually work for them.

Sharpp I know you use a scan gauge and I think it is the scan gauge d if I am not mistaken. I talked to a guy in Chicago and he has a scan gauge KR for sale and he wants me to drive up there to get it. I think I might just get a d model and work with it on a company truck. Is there really a difference between the both of them?
-
I am not much of a classroom type person and I sure would like to get it done and be out of the class as soon as possible. I know Treputt said it was kind of fast paced but if you have questions they will explain it to you which is a good thing. I have had a truck before and I pulled van and flat with it but the reefer is the only thing that I have not pulled but it will be a new adventure.

Normally they aint that bad. Normally u just set it and forget it. Sometimes you will just have to watch your temp depending on conditions.
popcorn169 Thanks this. -
Yes, it's a ScanGaugeD. The KR (Kevin Rutherford) model, as I understand it, has had it's software "tweaked". It lists at $197 on his web page. If your Chicago guy is giving you a deal on a used one, go for it!

I found it on lets truck it is $100 dollars. I spoke with him on the phone and he said that he has a bully dog and don't need both so he is selling the Scan Gauge KR. If I catch a load up that way he told me where his shop is and that he will leave it with someone and I can get it when I am in the area. Would like to have something like that just to see what I can get on fuel mileage and use it for a couple other things.

Sharpp Thanks this. -
Joker if you locate yourself a rubber band you can suspend the wire from the plug going up to the gauge itself, Get it around the wire and then run it around a knob or a screw there where it can support the weight of the cord or wires. It is just to heavy to hang with the weight on the plug. I would also very carefully see if you can make the probes any tighter into the plug or vise versa? But be careful with that part of it. Good Luck.

Well.... after reading about JCT since 2008 starting with LMB's old thread, I finally got the jewels together to pull the trigger on my app. To be honest, I am not interested in owning a truck. I just want the miles and money. Seems like they can support my gluttony for miles and my unapologetic greed for money. Local and home frequently driving jobs just arent in the cards I guess. They either dont pay enough to support my habits (both good and bad), or there are more qualifies applicants to fill their trucks. Back to the road for now.
RizenPhoenix and Sharpp Thank this.
