Must of had some skanky looking trucks returned or traded in to warrant the "2000.00 cash, check, credit or debit to be paid b4 ride or pet is allowed."

The only thing I saw that was 2000 was the pet deposit. Of that 400 is kept for the cleaning of the truck. Didn't see anything about a rider costing that. Just that if they are children it can't be during school (no home schooling from truck).

Ive heard horror stories about atbs. They were notorious on losing my receipts...so I just do my own taxes. As far as the rider, there is no deposit. Just 15 bucks a month for the insurance. The deposit is for the pet. That is due to several drivers that let their pet tear up the truck....

I use ATBS and they've worked out so far. There must better solutions out there, including doing your own taxes as Alan said, but I'm satisfied with them for now. Good info re: JCT rider and pet policies. My opinion is that JCT just doesn't want pets on the truck. The dog horror story I heard about a turned in truck is as bad as it gets! Good luck on your decision. Shoot me an email or message if there's anything I can help you with!

I think I remember that story, way back in the LMB days at JCT. The girl left the truck a disaster area so they dismissed her, if I remember correctly. Can't blame em, they have to protect their investment until/if the driver finishes out the lease and pays the $1 for the title.

How much are the ATBS fees?

Thx everyone for the info.. I am a compulsive cleaner.. I took a dog with me at Dart sometimes but the truck was 10 times as clean when I gave it back.. As for taxes, I did my own with TurboTax but still I wonder if I messed up and the boys from Washington will come pay me a visit one day...

Wow, I spent the last 10 or so days reading all 222 pages of the thread. Thanks, sharpp for starting it, its been a education.

I really like the lease payment program that JCT has. It seems more sensible to pay for the truck in proportion to how much you are using the truck. I like this way of buying a truck than some of the recommendations I got in my thread on the o/o page.

Again, thanks to Sharpp and all the other good guys keeping this such a positive, and a few times extremely funny, read.

    Sharpp Thanks this.

I'd be worried that I paid too much with TT, rather than whether I paid enough. I like TurboTax, but do they have rules for truck drivers setup in their calculations?

TurboTax is a good program but its not trucking specific. What program do you or other JCT drivers use, ATBS? I did get a refund..lol
