Yes, they are there, but you won't see them very often. When I researched my average LOH for my FAQ's page: (http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...e/219180-running-with-jct-99.html#post3596893) I came up with an average of 1,500 miles per dispatch and less than one trip in twenty being under 1,000 miles. Lately my last 10 trips were: 1447, 1269, 1617, 1371, 1141, 866, 2223, 1277, 1647, and 1560. That's a 1,442 mile average. (Don't hate me Central Ref drivers! lol)

I've discussed it deep in these pages somewhere, but average length of haul is one of my favorite things at JCT. You'll see some dry van drivers putting down reefer drivers for having to put up with 4 hour unloads and waiting forever at Tyson. Yes, that would not be fun if we were running 6-800 miles per trip. But after three days in a row of busting 600+ miles, I'm a little bit more forgiving of a slow unload!

I don't know ANY truckers that like to deal with shippers/receivers! I've never haggled with lumpers. Just get the price and send in a Qualcomm macro. As Camaro355 found out, you'll get a response very quickly; usually within a minute or two.
