We'll it appears I may be stuck overnight in the Dallas area, a victim of having my dedicated trailer. Even under my circumstances I don't run into these issues often. Truthfully, I'm posting about it to make sure the whole picture is seen. Today's bad I get stuck overnight ( with extra pay of 150.00) and dinner with family and friends. Dang I hate this lol.
luvtotruck, 88 Alpha and Alanp613 Thank this. -
So Traffic it's a bad good thing that you are having to deal with. Could be a lot worse.

Speaking of dealing with shippers. . .
I spent last night in the NE corner of Missouri. This morning I left on my 180-mile trip to Ankeny, Iowa just a little after 5 for my 09:00 delivery. Once I got going my thermometer settled on 22 degrees below zero! That's pretty nippy! My receiver in Ankeny was awesome. I checked in at 08:30 and was out the gate 40 minutes later.
A pre-plan arrived just before I got to my delivery. Olathe, KS (again) to Mira Loma, CA. Maybe I can find some sunshine out there! This trip checks in at 1,734 total paid miles. Sitting here at my favorite chicken-ship company, I have 1,506 miles remaining. This load delivers Thursday morning at 05:45, and it's not ready. I guess that's not so bad since I have only 20:43 hours available through Wednesday night. So I'll be running out the clock the next couple of days and starting my west coast Thursday in the dark.
I wouldn't have minded if the company had sent me a, "No loads available" message this morning. I've driven 2,929 miles since Tuesday afternoon and a little break wouldn't hurt. I'll just have to see what Thursday morning brings. After my delivery, I'll just take the rest of the day off at the Colton yard. My logbook could use the breather too!luvtotruck and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
Sharpp,
I can hear in the background when I read your post, Your Log Book Huffing and puffing, Gasping for air, But I also hear change falling out of your pockets! That is the good sound, Carry On, I'll text you in a day or 2 and let you in on what is happening with my doings! Be safe Brother!Sharpp Thanks this. -

His show trailer means he can't do drop/hooks....
... On another note, I did the online app for jct Wednesday, heard from Jennifer Friday morning. Friday afternoon my app was up to management and this afternoon I got the word that I'm in and they needed to know when I'd be there. See ya march 17th.88 Alpha, Alanp613 and luvtotruck Thank this. -

Delivered Sunday morn after 8hr early drive. With only 4hrs on the 70 told them i was going home for the night. No loads here in SoCal this morning so they are running me deadhead to Iowa. 1600 and some odd miles empty. At 10mpg I'm love'n it!
How's that for taking care of your drivers?
