Although freight liner had more shops, most of them have a wait time of at least a day or two before they even look at your truck. Many kw dealers have 24 hour shops too now especially in big cities

Well I finally made it to the Sapulpa yard this evening. I would have been here this morning but I had to go rescue a load that a truck broke down on and it was 5 hours late. So after sitting at the consignee forever because it was late I finally made it up here.

I put the tractor in the shop and already got the new pillow top mattress ( oh yes it is so worth it. Lol) and a j1 inspection done. Tractor passed with no issues. They pulled it out of the shop so I could sleep tonight. It will go back in tomorrow for the in house freightliner guys to do the overhead. Then hopefully I will be back out on the road to head home to surprise the wife for valentine's day.

The last few weeks my fuel averages have been 7.42, 7.62, and 6.90 mpgs. Big baby has been getting better and better as she breaks in. Also I have been running at 68mph on every load except when in California. (58-60) because of running on recapped hours and long loads with short times.

If anyone wants to hit me up tomorrow in the yard I am tractor# L2908 . Short round guy with Carolina Panthers beanie on. LOL .

We have one new T680. It has a Paccar 13 liter. I spoke with Chuck, the new driver of it, and he will keep me updated as to how it does.

THis is part one about the T680 over at Youtube.

I am on track to lease my own at the end of March first of April timeline. After the "Battle at Freightliner" I really dont want one of those. I have been told that "Well get you in my Thursday" on a Monday crap at more than one Freightliner shop. I know from one L/O with a T660 they have at least gotten his in for diagnostics within 2 hours of arrival. Only time he had to wait longer than 24 hours was when they had to overnight a part.

Just out of sheer curiosity, will JCT ever buy W900's or 389's again? I know drivers that run those and get the same fuel economy out of them. Of are those drivers just blowin smoke where the sun dont shine?

Waiting for service is one drawback to having to most common make on the road.

For a bit I had a 13 Pete with the Paccar in it and in 19k the whole emission system had to be replaced and they had to pull the front off the engine to replace a pulley. But for ride and driver comfort it was great.

Pulled an all-nighter in Yuma (haven't we all?) waiting on some Wendy's spring mix. I'll soon say goodbye to these 80-degree temps and awesome taco trucks. I'm not sure which one I like best!

I did some thorough truck cleaning last night. When I got to my second pick, I couldn't find my CDL. I raced back to the first shipper; no joy. So I methodically went through the cab until I was convinced that it wasn't here. Let me say that I'm one of those people who NEVER misplaces keys and CDLs. This time though I had it in my shirt pocket and I guessed that it must have popped out when I took out my glasses. New policies will be made! My one last long shot was that it fell out inside the trailer when I put in my load locks. This possibility was so remote that I didn't even bother checking until I backed in the door this morning. Well, what do you know! It was sitting right on the floor. Time to celebrate with a breakfast burrito!
