The good part is you can go with the pump price and don't have to worry about fuel taxes with your private car. No math required to figure out where the cheapest fuel is.

Here I am at the Flying J in Lodi with a load of laundry spinning away. If only there was a way to describe how it feels to be stuck in Lodi in a song or something. . .

Leaving the freaks from Burning Man behind in at the Fernley Loves, I climbed to the top of Donner @ abut 5.2 mpg. Not bad for about 65k lbs. Drifting downhill in 9th with the jake working I arrived at the J showing 8.3 mpg for the day. I love cashing in that hard-won altitude! Terry called me up and I found out that there's decent street parking at the receiver. Guess I'll head on over today after lunch and laundry. He also told me that Gstang is already in Tulsa waiting for orientation. Soule_Man is there as well, so if you two want to get together, PM each other!

I appreciate the readers of this thread. We've managed to keep pretty civil for a bunch of truck drivers and some good information is shared on here. I also appreciate your kind words. I'm no writer, but I think I spell pretty good, lol! I know that there are plenty of lurkers here too who don't post (I was one of them once) and can't PM me. If you want to contact me via email you may at JCTSharpp at Gmail (don't know if emails are permitted, but that's: JCTSharpp@gmail.com). I am happy to answer any questions privately if you like.

Time for the dryer and lunch.

I've been layed over all holiday weekend in Amarillo,TX so have had time to read the entire thread... Good stuff...A couple of questions...

What percentage of loads are drop and hook? Ball park figure will work...

Does JCT only have one Terminal/Headquarters ?

Where if any are your guys drop yards located?

I notice Sharpp you scale most of your loads is this a requirement from JCT? I generally don't scale anything unless its over 41 or 42 on my bills... That's just me...

I see you posted that you guys don't run through Montana... What other states do you not drive through?

I see you like Indian food... If you ever go through Indiana in I-70 theres a great Indian Truck stop and restaurant in Spiceland,IN when you get off the exit go past the flying J and the new Mr.Fuel and it will be on the same side as Mr Fuel... Very Clean and great Indian food... They have bar as well...I-70 exit 123...

    Thanks

Welcome aboard! Four of my last 20 picks were d/h. That's a little higher than I would have guessed.

Yes. Sapulpa, OK. We have drop yards in Ft. Worth, OKC, Phoenix, and Colton and Lathrop, CA.

JCT pays for scales but not overweight tickets. I scale if it's close.

We don't run west of Denver (in Colorado on I-70) in the winter. I have actually delivered in Montana once. The Dakotas are a rarity, as well as the NE states; ME, NH, VT, MA, CT. We go there but not often.

Thanks for the tip on the Indian food! Now, who knows a good Thai restaurant out here?

I think there was a JCT convention at the Loves in Joseph City, NM today... Hubby and I were there for his 30... Filling coffee etc... While we were there not less that 5 different JCT trucks came in to fuel... Or maybe because I'm following this thread I'm noticing them more... Who knows :)

I think you need more coffee. Joseph City is in Arizona, lol. I-40 is a busy lane for us. Funny, I was just browsing YOUR thread!

    We run I-40 weekly... And I-70 :-D

I would really like to dissect our weekly numbers and fuel mileage like you do... Also thinking about that 'scan gauge'... Not sure if Hubby will go along with the purchase though... How helpful is it to you? Does it only collect info from the Qualcomm? Can you reset it each time you fuel? Our DM resets the QC so looking there for our MPG is useless... We have been using 'Fuel Gauges' but have fallen behind on inputting the info... I want to figure out which route has the BEST fuel prices vs. road conditions (winds, grades, miles etc)... It's just sitting down and doing it...
