Not Sure, I'm hoping Social Security is still around when I get there. Or I am thinking I may have had a child or two that may be able to support me while I am doing what crazy old people do. Good Luck.

To be honest that's the only thing holding me back.. I don't want to have to work till I can't..to me I think these companies can pay o/o more.. Looks like they did the numbers to make where your just making what a company driver make just without the benefits.. Company drivers pay varies from .30 to .60 but o/o pay is pretty much the same with all companies per mile.. Some pay tags and permits some dont.. Bottom line companies need to pay o/o more a lot more.. Have an idea all you jct drivers get together and all take a week off at the same time.. Lol

Personally I take 12 percent off the top and put it into my own retirement account.

As part of Tysons Longhaul Fleet I pulled a Noel, Mo to Olathe,Ks. Then sat for 10 hours to p/up my Olathe to Vernon, Tx. for 2 days of running. I am so glad to be leaving. In 2 years with Tyson I have been to Cali 2 times and always with 4 or 5 drops.

Sorry guys. I was posting a response to truktuff. Guess I better figure out how to use this thing.

You could allways find a % contract but have you read company quarterlies most big carriers.are only making 3 to 5 percent at best if rates arent there where are they going toget it to pay you......now i don,t disagree rates could use an uptick but if you haven,t noticed the economy ain,t booming so where do u think this rase in rates is going to come from

Trucking pay really hasn't change in the 11 years I've been driving.. Straight out driving school transport America paid me .29 a mile... I get paid well for what in doing now but I rather have my own truck.. I've been doing my homework and it's not looking good.. Lol

I think the good jobs are out there, I've figured some good and bad numbers and see how I can do going with JCT, I like the Mileage Lease on these trucks, If it is sitting in the yard while I am out Camping with the family then I have a set amount of a payment that I should have already set aside. Thanks Guys!

In 20 years it has not improved much. That is true, however the equipment available today is more fuel efficient and the potential for greater returns once you have paid off your rig is very nice.
