I am not griping. I am venting to my mentor so that I do not Release on my DM. LOL :biggrin_25513: I figured Sharpp needs to earn his bonus somehow.
As Sharpp has said, I picked up in Colton Ca on Wednesday. Total truck weight is 76500+. I managed to run out of Cali up I-15 then to I-40 and began to crawl over the mountains. Managed 600+ miles yesterday and ended up being at 6.9mpg , not too bad for some monster work the truck had to do. Today was some more up and down driving for around 600 miles. I would have went further but I am meeting a friend for dinner. So today I have brought it up a little to 7.1mpg for the week. Hopefully I will get it up some more since I will have a little decline for a while. :biggrin_255: I deliver to Missouri on Sunday to Wally world and have a preplan to Connecticut for another 1200 + miles. So all in all pretty good start so far. I have had my fair share of mishaps but hopefully it will keep getting better. As for going home, I do not want to go home for home time just to grab my stuff from the house as I am blowing a bunch of money out here on the road eating when I could be cooking in the truck.:biggrin_25513:
So to Sharpp I apologize if I am venting to you but earn your money man. LOL:biggrin_25523: I'm sure he will say he is. LOL but hey, What are newbies supposed to do. LOL:biggrin_2552:

If you want to stay on a specific load, you can. They send a message out each day reminding drivers that if they are running ahead of schedule to call in or let their dms know, but it's your choice. Yes, it was a huge window, but before I even left from Lake Havasu City, I had already been asked to help out on a repower. So I asked to have the other driver meet me in Joseph City, AZ. (they originally wanted us to meet in Flagstaff, but Joseph City was my scheduled fuel stop). He was out of hours and took the Dallas load, while I got to make his delivery to Safeway in Tracy, CA.... I arrived tonight @ 17:52 and the delivery appt. is for 09/14 @ 05:00. I already have a preplan that picks up in Salinas and delivers in North Platte, NE. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... on my last two fill ups, I got 7.24 and 8.34 for mileage. I the first one had a lighter load, but all I did was slow down to 60(avg) and stay disciplined about it.

Colton? That wouldn't happen to be WCC would it? If so,they do tend to load you heavy. Not really too close to gross, but on your axles. LOL. Anyway, glad you're aboard and out and running now. Keep the shiny side up brother!

That is pretty cool they will run a driver to his 70 even with a load that can be relayed, That is pretty cool! I have put my application in, with my past they may or may not take me!, if they do I will run up against my 70 as well. At other companies they would just reset ya and forget about you, But I guess with the new reset rulings they can't do that anymore.. Thanks Stay Safe.

Yup...I used to run my hours out and have to sit for a restart, but not anymore. I already told my dm to expect between 500 and 550 miles a day and 8 1/2 to 9 hours, so I can work my recap.
I've found I'm running the same amount of miles either way, so I might as well have some time each day for myself.

That is exactly what I like to do, with that break in the middle of the bottom slide I don't know how it will work out but I guess I will get it figured out as we go, I've been off the road a year due to a family emergency, I had to come home and care for. I may b able to pick up a few more miles but that sounds pretty worth it.

TT what truck are you in? How do you like it? Thanks.

The 30 minute break isn't really a problem as I would normally stop about halfway through my shift anyway, just to stretch the legs and all. It just takes getting used to scheduling it in instead of just stopping whenever (to keep from having to do a second 30 minute break). I'm in a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia. I got this truck 04/17/2012 and it had 88,500 miles on it. I'm up to approx. 308,990 miles as of now. I'm happy with it, to say the least.

Seems like you are running good miles,
I have another question for you JCT guys, I know this is reefer work and so it may not drop to much but what does the Holidays hold for miles, I don't mind staying out for Thanks Giving, I have spent a few of them out this next one will not bother me, I have little ones so if I can be home for a few days at Christmas I would like that. talk to me guys! Thanks.

    0.....................802
    73...................803
    179.................52/1214=1266
