When your IC it is more about how much the load pays not so much the miles. Some guys run short loads and make good $$. Me I usually run 2500 to 3100 a week to cover all expenses and make a decent check for myself. checks vary usually between $1200 to $2000 and occasional $300 to $600 if your home for 3 days or more. On average over last 4 months it comes out to be about $1400 a week for me, but keep in mind I have full health, dental, vision, life, disability insurances for wife & I. In addition I pay an extra $75.00 to my truck now for vacations etc.. take out for taxes and your at about $1200 to $1300 a week. That is $400 to $600 a week more than I was making as company driver.

I have no idea who told you 2500 /week but they bumped their head really really hard.. I have 2014 cascadia pay for permits, insurance, escrow and I took out the OPTIONAL buy down insurance too.. with all that mine is more than half of what your saying.. My total is just over 1100/wk and I'm paying an overage from the last time I leased from SFI b/c I had to come off the road for a year and half b/c my Ex wife was sick.. 2500 is way way over embelished

For myself I run a little harder at times then I have to just to get ahead but to have a decent check if your good to decent at planning ahead I'd say 2700 is a fair number atruckr agree?? I run around there to around 3000 a week and make around 1800+ each week.. some run a little less and pull into close to what I do.. Big deal is planning and keeping up with the freight..

Thanks for the well wishes guys! He got to see his truck today and now he's really itching to get back out on the road! We have really high hopes to be successful, which shouldn't be too difficult as Brandon is a really hard worker, really organized, and really motivated. I'm glad I found the boards I did, you guys have all been so great, and I love reading about your travels! Roll on!

Sounds like he will do good.. tell him don't be afraid to ask questions out here.. from us or some of the other choice drivers.. I know on here we don't mind helping we like to see other drivers succeed we are in this together :) all of us have a family of some sort to take care of or assist in taking care of.. plus at some point or another whether you like to admit it we've all needed help and I've found out it is ten times better to help someone when they need it b/c you never know when you are going to be in their position and need some guidance or help along the way.. you are more than welcome him too to post on here and I know atruckr is really good with the board and has gave me good guidance and advice and I'll help as much as I can too.. and mary trucker is great with help and advice too .. good luck and tell him to keep it rollin and have fun while he's hammer down :)

the mary trucker, Jasbss and atruckr Thank this.
