Hmmm.. you seem a bit too concerned?? Are you uncertain about going with SNI or just not sure... I would say there are many variables to this subject.. For me how SNI does their training was perfect because I did drive before about 15 years ago. For a green newbie it probably isn't enough but for those that had experience or went to a good school seem to do ok from what I can tell..
No, I'm committed to SNI...I like everything I've heard so far...I'm just trying to be smart about this move. Some that I've talked to think SNI must be going thru drivers like crazy to shorten the time with trainer engineer so much.
ahhh I see... Yeah some may think they are burning through drivers but I think it is more the nature of the biz.. They do give you 3 weeks training basically it is just 2 of those weeks are at the home terminal and one out with a trainer driver. Other companies are using new drivers to run as team driver for low pay and you really don't get the proper training when the trainer is in the sleeper .. etc.. with SNI the trainer is in chair next to you coaching you along. ..
It probably has more to do with being short Training Engineers over the road and that they only take school graduates or experienced driver's.
Look at the 6 week companies, and those who follow those 6 weeks, with another 6 weeks combining 2 students as a team. Check their safety numbers, then get back with us. BTW... Watkins Shepard has a 10 day. Works great for them. Compare the numbers. Quality...not quantity.
Markus, We you get there for your training keep us updated. I see some recent posts on other boards, where students are still getting more then a week with TEs over the road. They might have just changed this with your class.
I was talking with the guy who gave me my road test the other day and he said new hires were staying out 10-14 days with TE's.
I believe 10-14 days has always been Schneider's policy unless the trainer thinks you need more. Good Luck and Merry Christmas
I have a question, Just where did you hear this from? I was told specifically to be prepared to be out 2 weeks with my TE. Assume that meant PACK for a weeks worth and go from there?
