Thank you atrucker! After being back behind a desk for the past 4.5 years, I have decided to get back out there on the road. I have read your thread here from start to finish, and it has truly inspired me to get back out on the road and pursue that dream I had started 8 years ago. I have completed the interviews, physical and drug screen, and God willing, will be in the Oct 28th Orientation up in Dallas. Everyone on your thread, and in many of the other Schneider Truckers Report threads, seem to genuinely like Schneider and what the company has to offer. I am really excited to get back out there and reacquaint myself with running OTR, maybe even look into going IC and joining y'all on the Choice Board program (Owning my own rig has always been a dream). The insight you and the others on this thread have made my decision very easy. God Bless, and Thank you!

Delivered in AZ and fortunately some fresh loads came available and was able to pick a really light 3700 pound-er (load of Dixie cups) and make it back here in Fontana CA. Load board in Phoenix was looking a little thin there for awhile. Most loads out of Phoenix to Cali are really cheap but get paid well going in
Now going to do another short load here in southern Cal then grab a load going on up to Oregon!
Keep on keep-in on! -
atrucker I cant send Pm because I don't post much. I am going over to Schneider from the big blue. I plan on doing the company thing for 6 months to year the going IC. I live in South Alabama and already know not a lot of freight there. I always stay out 5-6 weeks my daughter is 8 and will worry about being home more when see starts the dating thing lol. BTW had decided on doing this before reading your posts wife was about 70 percent until reading your posts now she is 100 percent. I feel doing the company thing for a while will give me the knowledge of how Schneider the company works. Then on to better things. Thanks for the posts. I may start a post of my experiences with them also. Where people can compare our notes lol. Stay Safe

Pressing on... I swear, going across the I 210 and I 5 through Grapevine pass in southern cal is like hitting turbulence in an airplane for 2 hours straight!
Grabbed a Short load out of Southern CA up to Bakersfield yesterday. Then deadhead back down to Fontana and grabbed my next load headed to Oregon. Productive day! left early AM from Fontana and landed here in Redding CA for the night.
Met another IC driver as I ended my day today, and we both agree this really is best way to truck if your going to do trucking for a living! Obviously we understand it's not for everyone and others are very happy as company drivers etc... But for us specifically as we were talking about it we were like a couple of kids laughing and joking admiring our accomplishments. Just was cool to meet an experienced driver (30 years, a lot more than me) with some same ideas and concepts about what we are doing out here as Lease O/O and how we are making a living!
Trucking on! -
Delivered that load in Oregon and grabbed another out of Portland OR. heading to Vegas (where I am now). Gotta get up at 4am and deliver this "at appointment" load (at appt means not early not late at the specified time) ughhhh! However, after that taking some time off to get settled in the new house. If you recall (those reading this thread) I been paying extra on my truck note so now I can take vacations. The way I have it set up should be able to take 5 to 6 weeks off per year without hurting my pay/or getting to far behind. Just would suck after being home for a week and have to come out and be $1000 bucks in the hole for next week
If you know what I mean!
Anyway, keep the freight moving ... I"m going home and kick it for a whileBBQ, pool, beach time, boating! yeah that's what I'm talking about!
Be safe!Stuka Thanks this.
