Based on my experience we generally get a better choice because we can plan ahead and pick our loads in advance. The reality is, first come first serve! you will here rumors from company drivers that we get all the good loads and rumors from the IC guys that they save the good loads for the company drivers, but it just isn't true. On occasion we might loose a load to a company driver cause someone screws up. I know this cause over the last year when problems arise with my shipments I always ask why, their answers are always pretty much consistent with this. Sometimes we loose loads to other carriers as well. Just depends on if SNI has contract with the shipper or if it is just a load sitting on the public load board. Not every load on SNI board is theirs, at least the live load ones are not always theirs until it is assigned to one of us and picked up..
To answer your question no I don't think it works like that. Sometimes some of the best loads come on the board last minute like the same day they need to be picked up those will generally go to company i believe because we (IC's) have already picked our loads.

Also I might add, what is scrape for a company driver might be lined with gold for us IC's cause we don't get paid by mile. we get paid by the load. Few weeks ago I took two loads of paper in one day total miles was about 190 miles including deadhead. That would be crap for company driver besides that fact they were heavy. But for me I grossed $765 bucks in one day plus used less fuel than normal day. Ca Ching! If I had to do those same loads as company driver it would drive me nuts..

Its funny you say that, I remember getting sent to pick up the same pallet load from Petersburg VA to Williamsburg VA that I ran the other day, back when I was a company driver. It ended up being cancelled, but man I was ready to call my DBL and ask her why the heck I was getting stuck doing a 75 mile run.
Now as an IC when I see I can make over $300 for driving 75 miles, I was all over it lol.91B20H8 Thanks this. -

Took some patience but found my desired route for my next loads. Grabbing a cheapy load out of Florida going to Mobile Alabama, Then up to Tennessee, over into Mississippi where I will grab a really nice load 9800LBs going to AZ. When all said and done, not making a killing here but it won't be to bad either. Plus staying out of the snow and getting myself back to west was the ultimate plan!

Nice!! Sounds like a pretty easy trip from one end to the other all things considered. Itching to try that myself, just going the opposite direction, lol. Every once in a while I see loads pop up from SC that run literally all the way to CA, , lightweight, and paid good enough to run it just to say I did it. Would be a fun one to try.
