You said you live in Ca, right? I live in Temecula which is about 90 miles from Apple Valley. Would they let me bobtail home to pick up my stuff, because there is no place in that area to park a big truck.

Yes in Apple Valley. Yes & No, they have a no bobtail policy. If you can't get to your house they arrange something with you to get to your house such as dropping trailer near or as close as possible to your home and bobtail in. But at work we can't just bobtail around unless it's emergency or something. Like me i can't get a big truck to my house but i can get pretty close so I just park and my wife picks me up. Every situation is different. Some guys have no choice some can do like i do etc. This based on my experience with some of the guys I hired on with that lived several miles into no truck zones.Last edited: May 19, 2019
YMItrucking Thanks this. -
You might want to think twice about driving that truck too far. I read somewhere on here about Detroits having a problem with oil filters backing off, actually it’s the fitting that the filter screws onto.

Thanks. It’s about 14 miles. He told me to top it off and go. Having today off was actually not so bad. Gave me a chance to call Andrew and figure out how to lift up the bed and make up the table. Also installed my CB and some other stuff. No complaints, no lost earnings.

Appreciate it. That's the only thing I've been worried about. Getting home. I could prob get the truck to my house, but def not the trailer.atruckr Thanks this.

Yeah I hear ya. They seem to be willing to work things out with their drivers. I don't have any problems with it. When I pickup my wife to go on the road with me. i can drive into our neighborhood and get really close and temporarily park on the street so we can load up and go without getting a uber or taxi. But they don't allow commercial trucks overnight in there.YMItrucking Thanks this.

I live on a 140 acre ranch, so I have the room. It's just getting IN there, lol. I can do it with the truck, just not the trailer. I'm trying to avoid a 90 mile Uber ride from Apple Valley to Temecula. Lol. Hopefully they might have someplace close to home I can drop the trailer.

Finally made it to Oregon Ohio to deliver my first Shipex load. Delivers at 0100 then park and go back to bed!! So far so good. Two days broke down but still getting paid.

mushroom1464, Lonesome, atruckr and 3 others Thank this. -
Pulled in to my first delivery and what do I see but the famous Pink Shipex truck Jason was here. Was my pleasure to meet him in person and look forward to meeting up with him in the morning for coffee.
Lonesome, atruckr and motocross25 Thank this. -
So from Rock Hill SC they sent me to Gaffney SC to pickup and deliver in Streetsboro Ohio. Now waiting in Streetsboro for a trailer. It was a drop. No Mt's here.
I do now have a load assignment. They are suppose to unload my trailer and then reload it and then I'll take that back down to Gaffney SC
Weird but whatever, whatever! Trucking on!
