Yeah, I don't think it would have taken so long if someone did their job on Friday when I told them I will be late cause of the storm, or Saturday when I shut down for 25ft fog visibility.
Had they done it right then like I asked them to, I would have been able to deliver Monday morning when I got in there about 03:30-04:00.
I told them I didn’t sign up and come back on the road to be gone from home 3+ weeks just to sit in the truck in a parking lot, cause my ### can be at home sitting on my couch, and if this is what it’s going to be like route me back to SLC, and I’ll get a rental and take my happy ### right back to the house.
I have my laptop and still work on customers servers cause I’m still an admin so overall I’m not too pissed, just highly annoyed with the whole dropped ball and Charlie Foxtrot.
Yeah I’m paid salary so it’s better than not being paid cause I’m not rolling miles, but I can make more in the same 5 days sitting in front of my desk screens and stock station at home if I wanted to be sitting someplace.
I have a few screens lol

I hear ya! It's always something. NICE set up tho! Congrats
Upinsmoke and tampadedicated Thank this. -

No wonder they have a high accident rate and even a fatality.
Apparently this company has no regard for safety.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
Well for salary they want you to run 12K a month. They like to see 600mi a day. That’s rather easy for me because I run splits most of the time, so I may drive 250 in the day, split, then run another 400 or 500mi and like to run nights depending where I’m headed.
I’ve not had them call me about my hours, but I’ve also already told them I don’t like being micromanaged or told how to run my clock.
As long as I am picking up and delivering on time, give me my info, and leave me alone in between. I won’t be micromanaged,
I’m 41yrs old. Go do that #### to a 20yr old newbie.
One thing that did annoy me, and I sent an email to safety and dispatch, was they called me about going fast down a hill within like 1min.
That bugged me because I had sent a couple emails trying to get info about the load, shipper/receiver hours of operations and if I can deliver early, and they never replied over more than 24hrs, but had no problem sending me a message asking for an ETA or calling me about speed.
I won’t post the whole email for OpSec, but it goes a little like this:
Ive not been here a long time, but if that’s the SOP here, I can tell you I won’t be here long because I’m not going to be told how to run my clock, and I’m not going to be sitting in parking lots for extended times on top of being gone from home for extended times as well, it’s just that simple.
They’re on a trial basis and probationary period just like they put employees on -
Overall it seems on the surface to be a good company and there are a lot of people happy here, I just hope it’s more than surface glitz and glamour.
I don’t have any major complaints other than this whole sitting in a parking lot cause of a reschedule issue and lack of whomever at dispatch dropping the ball on it -
Companies that promote themselves or hire people to promote them probably aren't worth working for anyway.
You don't see UPS or Walmart on here. Or R+L and Eagle either.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
Hire people to promote them? You mean like recruiters or marketers?
I’m a driver guy, sorry to burst your bubble, and have the logs to prove it.....well, not this weeks logs since I’m sitting but whatever lol -
