Looks like I'm heading to Missoula around the 16th or 23rd for training. Reading these threads helped me make my final decision. Seems like W/S is a good company. One question though, did you guys get home within the first month of getting your truck?

I went home before I got my truck, drove myself to Missoula rather then take a bus. Welcome to the family! :biggrin_25514:

    Hey everyone,

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Well I'm back on the road. Got to the Sayreville NJ terminal yesterday morning at 7:00 and put in my empty and available. I hung out with Vern for a couple hours and had a load on the QC when I got back to the truck. A broker load of dog food I picked up in Taylor PA. The only drag is, it doesn't deliver until 07:15 on the 5th......:biggrin_2556:

I've tried everything to get the receiver to take it today but no go. So I sit in a Loves in Blacksburg SC (got here at about 10:00 this morning) until I roll out at 03:00 to finish the run. So a slow start out of the holidays but that's cool.

Ole Betsy is acting up again. Seems while sitting she developed a coolant leak at the pump and a new air leak which is effecting the turbo actuator. I swear this truck just doesn't like to sit. (Probably why we get along so well....LOL). Keep her running and she's fine for the most part, but let her sit and the next time you hit the key it's...... :biggrin_25524:...Ut Oh...LOL

So hopefully dispatch will get me headed west for some miles. I'll QC them tonight about it so they have it first thing. :biggrin_25525:

I went straight from orientation to Myrtle MS to get my truck. Was out for about 2 weeks before getting home the first time to get all my stuff.

More ready than the freight is apparently...LOL I delivered a bit early this morning and now have to wait until midnight to pull a load out of Dalton for a short hop to the KY terminal (Never been there) for a 05:00 delivery....:biggrin_2556: ....LOL

Talked with dispatch and hopefully will get a Sam Adams run out of KY. Yep, a thin week for sure but I'm learning that's to be expected around the holidays. The silver lining is it's a nice way to ease back into things after a great holiday! :yes2557:

Glad you had a great holiday.

Atleast they have you some runs, even if there are short and a little spaced out. Some miles and better than no miles anyday :)

Where is y'alls terminal in KY?

We just came off hometime in Corbin, KY and picked up a run out of Frankfort headed to Raleigh, NC. Not great miles there either but atleast we're moving too.

    Richmond.

Yep, I'm not complaining and things will pick up soon and I'll be back to grinding away the miles.

    Hey Darling!!!
I am sure one of the harder parts of not running (and making money!) is just plain sitting.......when you want to work and can't it can be frustrating especially if you are sitting in a T/S. Then on the reverse are the times you really want a break and the freight is coming fast and furious!
