Running With Watkins & Shepard

2 weeks in and I could already write a book.

So enlighten a noob like me Jet 460. lol. Would be interested in anything you pass along on your fresh experiences at W/S

 

Ever see those dunk tanks at the fair?
Training in Missoula is kinda like that.
You see it coming, but you're still like, "#####!"

 

I started reading this thread 2 nights ago....I just read 100 pages tonight to finish it ! Wow ! Thanks for everyone who contributed to the thread, and especially Chris who gave very detailed, informative, and honest reporting through the whole process. I've gained a lot more knowledge as a result of this thread, and feel that it will help me to make the right choices in my hopeful trucking career....

Hay Cage, I know Im responding to a really old post, but I have a prehire from W/S. Hubby and I are looking at relocating to AZ and have been looking hard at the Gilbert area. Can you give me any info on the area? We have to girls ages 7 and 11 so good schools is also a priority. Hubby is in construction and we heard the biz there is going well. Any info would be appreciated! BTW, does W/S have a terminal near Gilbert?

Yea i left to go do heavy haul for lone star transportation. Then i left there for a local line haul job for a big ltl company.

W/s is a great company, im sure you'll enjoy it there.

IM still in the newb process....lol. They were the first company to offer me a prehire. Running N/E, mostly furniture and carpet is what Kristy told me. Lots of stops from what Im guessing. NC,GA, PA and some to NJ. If anyone on here is familar with these runs Id appreciate your advice. Thanks all

 

Lots of money in those runs, not the most fun thing in the world but you can rack up some serious money in 2-3 days just doing 50-100 miles and a ton of stops.
