Spoke with Chris and he's headed to GA from Cali. He wanted me to let ya'll know that he's itching to give an update of his most resent travels.
I'll wait for him to weigh in before I comment on the wisdom of giving someone who has been driving less than a month a cross country run unless they are getting a week to do it.
Most likely it will be Tuesday. I recommended that he take his time as it seems not much freight moves on Mondays with W/S or at least long haul freight.
Hi Matt. So hows the night driving going? I got out on the road twice this week with Ken. I must be doing something right. He had me drive back to the yard yesterday afternoon in Friday go like hell rush hour traffic. Lol it was intense for sure, but a good experience, and most important, I didn't hit anything lol.
Tell ya what there halfburn; you buy the company then we'll start doing things your way and once you're at the helm you can check driving stats to see if your BS meter is still dialed in.
LOL...OK, I'll "weigh in". I LOVE IT, LIVE IT and DRIVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Cross town or cross country, I really don't see the difference as far as "driving" goes. I can do either just fine.
WOW!! So many great posts since my last one. Thanks so much everyone for the continued interest in, and support of my path to becoming to trucker. I'm really learning a LOT out here and getting more and more comfortable by the mile now. I'm not going to reply to everything because well, if I did, I'd be late to GA with this run! LOL But I would like to address one point made by Big Money Trucker. Sir, while I appreciate your input, I can't help but feel a touch of negative energy from it. I've always lived by a pretty simple notion. You do it your way, I'll do it mine. You may snicker at a 3980 (not 3800...lol) mile week but in all honesty, I'm quite proud my FIRST week went that well. (Actually I did have 2 days of runs before that but this was the first "week" of running) The load was delivered safely and on time and through some rather trying conditions I would say. Especially for a NEWBIE like myself. I'd like to try and keep this a positive vibe thread so it more accurately reflects who I am.
Thank God! you're still alive. I know it's only pure luck that you've made it thus far so count yourself lucky and buy a bus ticket to the nearest place halfburn thinks appropriate for a noob like yourself to start his trucking career. Maybe there's some virtual trucking company that moves freight around in cyberspace?
......... ..... Yeah buddy, I don't need a Freight Shaker after all. I'm doing enough "shaking with fear"..... ..... out here to roughen up the even Volvo's ride!!.....
