I am sure you will make your mistakes from time to time but that's learning. You are doing extremely well for a new driver, hell even an experienced driver keep it up!
No halfburn, the fuel isn't even reaching the bottom of the filter. It's below the lock ring that holds the clear upside down bowl. It's down in the metal base. I know how they work. I know that replacing the cone shaped rubber gasket that sits between the metal base and the filter bottom has taking care of the "idle" issue but it's still not right. That fuel should start out roughly an inch or two up the filter and rise from there as it get's dirty. As of now, it's bypassing the bottom of the filter all together........Not Good!
Good morning again...LOL Well, I have my paperwork done, laundry turning and a few minutes to kill on my 10 hour. I have to call the receiver (once my phone charges) to get a drop time. Today will be a "little" bit of a push as I missed an exit last night and took a nice little downtown tour of Garland It never ceases to amaze me how you can drag this 53 foot box through some DARN tight areas.....LOL..... You really have to concentrate and pay close attention but with the right approach, even a steep cut back right can be done without shanking anything. I know, I did like 3 of them there....lol Mike, This puppy is DEFINITELY leaning like we saw in that rest stop the other night. I'm on a nice flat concrete pad here and it's leaning. You know how I am about the pre-trip so I know this is new. I agree with your suggestion that it's most likely the leveling valve. Everything else looks fine. So, since I'm heading back to NC, I'm hoping I can get a run to Sayreville, put this puppy (with the list...LOL) in the shop and get a little home time to see my folks and go riding with Sallie if she'd like. For a guy that's ridden all his life, this is really tough.....LOL I'm still screaming a way to strap that HOG to the truck!! I may have to trade it in for a Sportster to make it easier..........NOT!! It's frustrating to have ALL this roon in the trailers but none for my baby....LOL
Let's see how it goes come this winter and when you get 3 million miles in. Do you guys wonder why none of the drivers respond that have a few years with W/S. Chris I do believe that you are doing good for a newbie but my goodness your becoming a truck driver god in the eyes of the few drivers that respond to your thread. Sorry but I don't believe your making the experienced drivers look stupid course their not as perfect as you are.
Dani, In order here..... Life, work, play is all what you make of it. Winter, summer...just different times of the year to me. I can't speak for other drivers but I have SPOKEN to a few and they aren't complaining. Even those who drove for them before and don't any longer don't really have anything "bad" to say. I just spoke with an OO the other day. He's been so for over 12 years and hooked up with WS last March. Told me it's the best company he's ever worked with. Perhaps they're just too busy to be bothered with "posting"?? It is hard to find the time even as a newbie. I imagine as I get busier, it will be tougher for me as well. Thank you for the compliments on my efforts. But I'm certainly no God...LOL Just a guy trying hard. Perhaps it's just that they see?? I think so. I never claimed to "making experienced drivers look bad" and in fact, I agree with you. And God knows I'm FAR from perfect as he's the only one who is. But I do "try" to be as I feel shooting for perfection (whatever that is), is the best way to be the best I can be. But thanks for the shot there....LOL Please try to keep your facts straight and put other folks comments on them, not me...OK?
I didn't mean to imply that W/S is not a good company, in fact my hubby has worked for them for well over 25 yrs, back when the trucks were gray and Stan Watkins decided he wanted red trucks so he could see them coming down the highway....just a little trivia....
Perhaps your hubby should should post then. I for one would be thrilled to hear from someone with that much experience both as a driver, and an employee of this company. That kind of insight would be invaluable to all who now drive, or want to drive for them. .... Much respect to you and him....
Well, I just got off the phone with the broker for this NC run. It would seem the delivery window is noon to midinght TOMORRW and NOT at 00:00 tonight as I was told. So, I'm not so "pushed" anymore. I offered to get it there early (23:00 tonight) but they can't take it early sooooo.....Hmmmm.....Guess I'll push on to my next fuel stop in Dandridge TN and hang there for my next 10 hour. This is good actually as I finally have a good internet connection here so I can take care of some business. So I may just delay here a bit and roll out later this evening.
Hey Sweetie!! Enjoy the 'little' break you are getting and play a bit on TTR!! Relax and chill out some-what a concept!!
