That's me. After going for 5 days two days is not enough to stay out of a vehicle.

He is doing a great job. He has a little OCD in him i think. Not a bad thing. Everything just has to be perfect. He strives for it. Too bad not enough care this much.

You can be rest assured that we will be out on that bike, weather permitting. Can't keep a harley man down, lol. It is the perfect time to be riding. Leather weather up here.

Thanks again for keeping this going. Chris really appreciates all of the positive feedback and the constructive criticism.

As they say in the biker world, keep the shiny side up.

You need to get over to the family forum and do some reading. The person coming back will not be the same person you knew. Becoming a driver shakes your faith in humanity, your fellow citizens, and your perception of the world around you. Very few people go through the experience intact. That is why I think so many drivers reaffirm or find faith. It is like stepping into a world that has existed around you that you didn't know was there and experiencing it shocks you to the core and you just can't comprehend it and never recover. What he is going through now is unimaginable. If I were dealing with a driver for the first time I would institute all the safety measures like meeting in a well lit public place.

On the other hand he will probably just be tired and hungry. Nothing that a good deworming, meal and oil change won't fix.
    Have fun!

This all may be true. I know this is what he wanted. But as they say, careful what you wish for.

I'm sure he is looking forward to a little NJ time. Needs to see his folks and wants to see me. He has only been home for 2 short days since the middle of August, so I am sure he may need a little deprogramming, lol.

Thanks for the input. You are right since I am new to all of this trucking stuff, I'm sure I have much to learn. Thanks again!

    Hey All,

Talking to Chris right now. He is currently in Va. on his way to N.J. He is suppose to drop the load he is carrying now in Brunswick by 7am tomorrow. Then hopefully home for a couple of days. He has to get a new computer, a new phone and a bunch of other stuff done. I think he is also excited about just getting back home. As soon as he is home he said he will get onto the laptop at home and post to all of you.

Once again, thanks for hanging in there with him. I'm sure he appreciates it to. TTFN.

I just spoke to Chris and read him your thread. He said to tell you that rest assured he is coming back the same person that he left. This is what he asked for and what he got. So no well lit place is needed.
I'm sure that no matter what lighting, when he wraps his arms around me it will feel just like home.:biggrin_255:

Ive got 3 weeks left in school in So. Cal. W/S is REALLY on my mind. Other option is swift. I can handle no TRAINER. I can DRIVE. I wanted to make sure before of this before I would even consider W/S. With my newbie confidence (about as long as a flea) I truly believe I can be a safe driver. Forget anything else. I believe safety first. I talked to my recruiter, and I get thru to her without waiting for half the day ( it took 1 minute). I just want to get the miles. i want to run. Daughter is in college, not married, so living in the truck is probably better than most places I have lived as a musician on the road in the 80's. It's October and I will wind up in the school of fire in the dead of winter to start my paradigm shift in careers. Grew up in Chicago so I don't care about about snow or cold weather. I think I got confidence now, but not to the point that I hardly know it all. Exactly to the contrary. I want to learn everything I can. It keeps my gray haired brain fresh. I appreciate any feedback!
