Well, it would seem that they've determined the problem with the dash is all in my head (Ummmm...yeah...OK...:biggrin_2556:) and there's nothing wrong with it. I guess it's normal for it to jump through every menu and setting in the blink of an eye every few seconds and loose data from all the trip and timers when it does. And the fuel problem is miraculously "not a problem" anymore!! Evidently, although they won't say it's "normal", they've seen a "couple" other trucks running with the level BELOW the filter and all of sudden it's OK. Ummm...then why send me to the dealer in the first place??

So the long and short of it (as near as I can determine) is....nothing but a bit of "looking at it" was done and I imagine W/S will get a sizable bill for nothing being actually done.

So much for doing my best to protect their truck and keep us BOTH from potentially breaking down out there......somewhere. What concerns me is, "IF" this fuel issue does cause a breakdown, I won't be able to run the truck so I hope it's not too hot or cold and not in the middle of nowhere!!.....:biggrin_25524:....LOL

Yep! Now that almost all the WORK I've had on this "time off" is done, I intend to do just that sweetie. I took the bike out last night for a short ride to see some family and friends and now have the ITCH. So with today being such a beautiful fall day, I'm gonna RIDE finally!

I'll call dispatch as soon as they open and see what the chances of getting under a good load west before the weekend are. I have some transportation issues back to the truck to work out so I'm not sure how it will all play out yet. What I do know is.....I simply HAVE to get a car or something to make this whole deal easier. If they'd let me take the truck for home time it would be much easier (not in this particular case) but you know what I mean.

Anyway, once I'm back out there I intend to stay out for a long time now. I'll have my winter clothes and as long as Ole Betsy will keep going, so will I...LOL

No replies on his thread and has not been logged in in 6 days. Last note was he got his tractor.....
Chris had a call into him.....If Chris had heard I think he would have updated us.

Let's just hope he is busy getting used to his own rig and setting things up! I am sure he will update us all soon!!

Yep, it's just like going to the doctor. As soon as you go to the doctor for some unknown reason all of your symptoms disappear! I can't tell you how many times that has happened with my trucks! When it does the mechanics look at you like an idiot! Oh well, that's just the more experience you are gaining. Time to get your game on, freight is going to really start picking up now. Get what you can get because after the holidays it stops! It's up to you but working Thanksgiving day and Christmas Eve and Day really aren't worth it, unless your company is offering some kind of substantial compensation. Most shippers and receivers are closed so you are stuck with whatever load you have at the truck stop, and good luck if you break down! The TA does have a good turkey buffet though! :smt078

Sorry for going off on a tangent, just reminiscing. Drive safe man!

Thanks buddy. I'll set up the thread tomorrow sometime. All of this happened in a heartbeat so time to get the game face on.

This process was easier 30 years ago. :biggrin_25526:

OH...I know the symptoms haven't "disappeared" Chompi. They're still there. Just seems nobody but me is truly concerned about them. Anyway, it is what is and I'll make the best I can of it.

So I find myself in a bit of a dilemma here. I'm anxious to get back out there for sure! I miss the road and the gap in pay isn't good either. But my "Whole" family will be gathered together in one place at my brothers for a fencing party this weekend. I haven't seen everyone for a long time and obviously, don't know when I'll get that chance again.

Since I've received no word back (yet) on whether or not I can get a load for the weekend, I'm hesitant to go back to the truck where I may end up sleeping at the dealer or terminal over the weekend waiting for Monday and a run. Obviously my family is VERY important to me and the chance to see them all together isn't something I want to miss. On the other hand, the truck (fixed or not) is ready for me to pick up so I now feel like I'm "playing hooky" if I don't go get it.

    Hmmm...........
