That's a good idea Sweetie...[IMG]...I think I will. I really think if folks simply understood the nature of these beasts, self preservation would take over...ya know?

There will always be "idiots" out there but I think the majority just don't understand the seriousness of driving their cars around these rigs and the "potential" dangers of getting too close.

Well I just doubled checked my appointment time in Fairfield and it's 10:00 Monday, not 01:00 so it looks like a 34 hour is in the works and I'll start off the week with a fresh 70 and roughly 2500 miles in trip packs already for next week. SWEET!

While I don't much care for sitting, this actually works out very well as I can get laundry and a bunch of other things done. I fixed a loose CB antenna but it doesn't seem to help this crappy CB much...LOL I can't wait until I get back on top and even ahead of things so I can get a decent CB and antenna. Gonna tackle that license plate light next and then call my folks to see how they're doing.

I also want to get hold of ORG as well. He left me a voice-mail two days ago and I called him and left one for him. He told me he has "something interesting" to tell me. Hmmmm....wonder what it can be?? It's been a bit tough to keep in touch with folks as I get sketchy cell service through much of WY and UT. But I have good signal here so it's catch up time....:biggrin_2559:

For those who are interested, ORG is doing well although I think he's a bit frustrated with the way Swift limits the miles on drivers. With that electronic logging, and the fact that if the truck even creeps above 65 and the driver doesn't hit the brakes to back it down, the truck sends a signal to Swift and the driver can get in trouble for it. As he told me, that can make it rather difficult for making up lost time climbing hills and such. But he seems happy and I think that whole situation fits him pretty well. He doesn't care to push too hard and doesn't like driving at night too much so it would be tough to push for more than the 2500 mile average he gets now anyway. When I get in touch with him, I'll update you all with more info.

I don't really know why he hasn't posted yet. He can get on-line but I think he feels he's falling so far behind and has SO MUCH to tell that he can't get it all out there. I told him not to worry about all the "past details" and just pop in, say hello and update from now forward when he can. I can understand his view. So much happens in a week out here that even if you can get on-line every week it would be tough at best to describe it all. Unless you're like AT. Now that boy can TYPE...LOL

Hi potterHSE, thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoy the tales from the road and although I'm sure they're much like every other driver's out there, I'm humbled that you'd actually read them to your kids! You actually do that? What an honor sir, thank you! :biggrin_25514:

And hey, you drive that propane truck with your head held HIGH. We all need THAT product too! :biggrin_25525: It's no more or less important than the stuff we OTR drivers haul. Don't ever leave your kids. If I had any young ones, I wouldn't be out here that's for SURE!

You're a DRIVER and your kids can be proud to have a hard working dad!

God bless and stay safe driver.

    Wedge Thanks this.

Yeah, Deserted if it is a few kegs loaded on the floor then it is not that bad! However when you have driven long enough to have pulled a load of beer cans stacked to ceiling then give me shout and let me know how it was!
