Does W/S give a newb lots of miles to start then slowly cut them back to make way for more newbs?

I have read a lot of companies do this. I hope W/S does not.

Anyone, feel free to chime in on this.

:biggrin_2559:.... Not so fast there buddy. I'm still lurking about...LOL

Well I've been a bit stuck here in Helena getting my truck fixed. The plan to get here Monday went very smooth and I thought I'd be rollling again by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning the latest.

The last things on my list of fixing all went well and Ole Betsy never felt so good. But the "very last" item, (that anoying squealing), which turned out to be an exhaust maifold gasket, turned into a longer than epected fix due to 2 broken bolts that had to be drilled out. One went fine, the other...not so good....LOL. But the good news is she's all fixed and just a purring like a kitten now! With any luck and for the first time since I got this truck, I'll finally be able to just run without thinking about what needs to be fixed along with where, when and how to get it done between the miles....LOL

Dispatch gave me a load today that would have run to GA. An O/O was pulling it when he had trouble with the trailer brakes so they had him pull it here to Helena. Then his Turbo went and he had to get it fixed. I ran over to the shop a few blocks away where he was getting it fixed to pick up the paperwork for the load. Just as I was sitting there talking to him and he handed me the paperwork, dispatch called and told me there was a "change of plan" and to let him keep the load.

I'm really glad because he had been with it for 2 days already and with another 2200 miles to go, and the now costly repairs he faced on his rig, he really needed the run more than me.

So I've been here in Helena for a week but really having a blast with all the shop folks here. Such good people and always nice to be here helping out.

Also made a few new friends and got to hang out with AT and Mike for a while too. All in all a good week! So I should be rolling out tomorrow for Carlisle PA. Then a few shorter runs most likely around the East and then home for X-Mas! :biggrin_255:

Still no word from ORG and I'm really concerned for him and his family. :biggrin_2557: My prayers that all is well for them!!

Hi Katey, Welcome to the forum and thanks for stopping by my little corner of it. Thank you for the very kind words as well :biggrin_25514:

I'm sure you'll do just fine if you just keep a positive outlook and never look back. Although my time here is much less than it was in the beginning, if I can be of any help, just ask. As you can see, I do get here from time to time still...LOL

Best wishes for your path forward.

Hi hdnightrider, Glad you stopped by. I'm humbled that you've read so much of my journey here. Not so sure about the "I'm the man" thing but if my path has helped at all, I'm really glad. I'm just a guy trying to put it all back together again and figure it out as I go......:biggrin_2556:

I'm sorry to hear you've been through the same things as I but hey brother, NOTHING keeps a biker down!!! :biggrin_25525: Perhaps one day we'll meet up on our HOGS and ride and laugh about it all.....:biggrin_2559:

I should bobtail over to Helena and introduce myself to the "infamous" Chris! Can't though, sitting at the Pilot in Three Forks, picking up a load first thing in the AM going to Alabama.

They have more miles then we can run, there arnt enough log books to move all this freight lol.

I just had some bad luck with runs, or my hours were limiting me on what they could give me. Even with the sitting and resets ive been doing I'm still getting 2300-2600 miles a week....

my last load was 2300miles and this on is 2500miles lol so theres no need to worry about not moving.

And no they dont cut back your mileage, from what the other more experianced guys here have been telling me and from what ive seen the longer your here the better miles you get, (probably becuase you can run more effeicantly and dispatch knows they can trust you with imporant loads....)

A.T. You should be able to do 4000 miles without lying in your logbook. If you need some help don't be afraid to ask. You should be running a lot more miles a week right now. Maybe get with Chralb. He seems to be doing very well and you guys pull for the same team so I know he would be more then happy to help you out.
