I didn't see it mentioned, but you can start sleeping in the truck as of Feb '12.

All time spent in a parked commercial vehicle is now considered off duty time. However, it cannot be logged as sleeper time.

What is the average per mile rate for hauling one travel trailer ???

Not long ago I was visiting with a RV hauler at a truck stop in East Texas, he was pulling one travel trailer with his one ton pick up and stated that he was getting $1.25 per mile (I think, this was months ago) and he was all jacked up on mountain dew. I asked what he was hauling back and he stated that he rarely has back hauls. I don't know if this was his career or if he was retired from a previous career and just doing this as a hobby during retirement. I don't see how he is profitable at $1.25 per mile, that's $0.625 per mile round trip. Now if this is his sight seeing gig to see that states after retirement I can see that working, but putting food on the table for a family............. How in the world can anyone do that ???
