I can only guess that the$ for apus wasn't worth it to them. They had 30 2007's with apus and apparently not profitable. Its not weight, I don't think cayuse many states allow for apt weight. I know with bunk heaters in fall/winter easy to keep idle below 10%. I had several weeks at zero. Last three weeks completely different story.

All the drivers I've talked to have a different perspective on it as to the bean counters. The drivers see the apu's would save money in the long run, corporate apparently doesn't. Plus with the apu's in service now, they don't upkeep the maintenance on them like they should.
-
Outside of the fuel saving you'd think there a hefty tax incentive.
-
I truly beleive the APU's would be a savings in the Long run. But since it's not immediately seen - they scrap the program. There is no one that can tell me that APU's wouldnt save us money if used and serviced correctly. I know for a fact there are several "tax savings and grants" to be had to purchase APUs but again it's not an immediate savings.

That was what I was thinking baritone. Than I saw all these new truck without them. I said to myself I don't want to read another message about idle times.

I'd say you guys are right on the mark. I know if I was an owner op it wouldn't be hard to justify the investment. In fact, I dont think theres an argument that could talk me out of it.

hard, as a company driver, to justify when you basically have $125/mo to gain from idle bonus and winter mos. wouldn't be gaining much at all.

I have a few questions about Millis. I live a few minutes down the street from the Cartersville terminal and I should know tomorrow if I start class on the 29th. I was wondering how often you guys come through here to maybe see if that may be the same when I go OTR. Also what is the difference between the white columbia's and the rest of the fleet? Are they dedicated routes? I already have my CDL and currently drive dump trucks but I'm ready to make decent money and see our country. 1 more question, does Millis ever go to California?

White trucks and some small sleeper t660's are either dedicated or regional and the maroon" sleeper" trucks are long haul. Millis does go to cali occasionally, I've never been to date. Inbelieve if you live in cartersville you be thru more often then avg. Im sure dispatcher will see to that.
