I know plenty of drivers who have had bad experiences- not only with Prime, but others as well. In most cases, the primary reason is what stares back at them from the mirror.
OH!!!! CALLER ID!!!! I should have known!! So... let me get this straight... a fleet manager... who has several trucks... sees a ten digit cell phone number and "VERIZON WIRELESS" come up on his desk phone and immediately recognizes that it's me? Wow... I wish I had his brain.... No... it couldn't be that he recognizes my voice, or my name. "Hey Brian, it's Anthony" Nope. He's just that good with numbers. Not only does he know my truck number, he knows my cell phone number too, and there is a mental connection he's made. Got it. Thanks for clearing that one up.
Hello to all prime drivers after months an months Of research i chose prime an they approved me today even though millis was my first choice but they denied oh me oh well their loss. I considered stevens but quickly change my mind, 3 years to pay back a loan plus interest no thanks. I feel prime has the best deal going, commit to them for 1 year an they forgive your $3500 loan stevens was $5500 an 3 years to pay back too high an too .. I like the way prime has its training set up, since iam new to the bus the way they train hands on suits me perfectly. I start school May 21 an i will have my permit with me. I would like to thank all prime drivers for your advice i didn t have to ask any questions you guys pretty much answered them all. Ironpony i've been reading your post an enjoyed everyone an some others jus cant remember the names. Ironpony appreciate the good advice dont mind the haters they can have their opinions i have learned alot from your post an iam sure iam not the only person but anyway look forward to meeting you as well as the other prime guys be safe out there.
Man I love how on here I ask some questions about a company and it turns into a pissing match look I appreciate the people on here who actually took time to answer my ? And give advice but to all you cry babies get a life not every company is for every person that is why you do what I'm doing and really research a company before you go to work for the every company has good and bad there is no perfect but its whatever fits you and if it don't fit you don't cry about it just suck it up and move on there ain't no point in trying to discourage others from looking into a company cause you got butthurt you didn't become a billionaire working there I will make my own decision and it will be an informed decision and I hope all other newbies do the same but truthfully most won't and that's where you get said cry babies anyway just wanted to say that cause It needed to be said
Just finished my training, so here's the scoop: One week of orientation, for which you don't get paid, but you do get room and board. Three to four weeks (100 hours, minimum) of training, once you get your permit, for which you *also* don't get paid, but you *do* get $200/week for food and incidentals. Six to eight weeks (30,000 miles, minimum) once you get your license, for which you got paid $600/week, minimum or $0.12/mile. That usually netted out to about $491/week. Once you get back to Springfield, there are another three days of training, for which you get, I believe (I haven't seen it, yet, so I can't be certain) about $71/day plus room and board. The equipment depends on your instructor/trainer. Mine had a 2010 Cascadia.
