And on a side note, we finally added a few brand new KW day cabs in the fleet. Hopefully for those waiting on a sleeper truck, one may become available to you

    @bigkev1115

Nice! I'm 40 in the ranks for mileage. Ranked 1 on MPG at 9.16. Now that the holidays are over, I told dispatch I wanted to push myself to see what I could do. I'm on 7 months of driving experience now, so time to start fine tuning my time management.

    After my service:

Grand Forks, ND to Richmond, VA. Picked up on 1/8 and delivered on 1/10- 1,651 miles.

Whitakers, NC to Fargo, ND. Another 1,600+ mile run.

I'm hoping to get back up to the yard by Tuesday, I have a personal friend going to orientation on Monday, so I'd like to see him before he gets out on the road. Hopefully they keep these long runs coming my way. I enjoy the 600+ miles a day. Certainly helps when I have open delivery days/times.

Right now I'm waiting for a mobile unit to come out and replace a trailer tire at the truck stop. I must have hit a nail or something, heard an audible leak this morning when I was loading in NC coming out of the tread. No shop downtime means I can get back at it in the morning and drive into this cold front head on. Park in the worst of it and get back at it on Sunday. I would have preferred a day earlier for delivery, but now I don't have to risk my 100% on time deliveries on the account of bad roads.

Oh yeah, when I have room in my trailer, I've done the multiple stop thing. Most I did was 4 though, told them if they wanted the trailer on time for delivery, I couldnt stop again haha. Partially my fault. When I see so much room, I call dispatch and tell them to find more loads along the way. No sense in sending another truck out when it can go on mine. Make it worth the trip lol.

So glad you're doing good and you keep rolling!

@LDYTRUCKER , you re one of the better drivers with less experience that we have. I just shake my head at some of the drivers that come through here. Last time at the yard, we had a inexperience guy try and argue with Matt and Sharon over his hours. He did paper logs, but yet his people net was working. Then we had a few that did not read the workflow and forgot to pick up a few stops. Or some that sleep 15 hrs and wonder why the don t get the miles.

So far, you re doing great. Once you hit that 1 year mark, it will get even better for you. I ve been out here 18 years, I don t know everything, and I try to learn even more. Time management, and knowing the routes and where things are out here are the biggest keys to maximizing your money and miles at S&S

Well, my table scrap load turned into a grain of salt and pepper load lol. I went to go pick it up, and checked in quick and got a door. 5 minutes later, the shipper called and they cancelled the load. So I drove back to the yard and explained what happened. The only load we had available was to Watertown, SD and then over to Rochester, MN. I gladly took it as a few hours in Grand Forks gets old quick. I m now at Stone Travel Center in Watertown for Monday delivery.

Some drivers may have refuse this load, but they don t realize the company just refused your layover pay because you refused to take this load. Since this load finishes out in MN, I know there s a lot better chance there for good loads.

Some drivers don t realize this is slow season too. You re not going to always get these 1,000 plus mile loads and 3,000 mile weeks constantly. You have to take the good with the bad. Even if you get just 2800 miles a week, that s still almost 1300 gross.

And when you talk to planners and dispatch any kind of way, and constantly whine, you just earn yourself all the crap loads too. Trust me, I ve watched and listen to both the planner and dispatcher as soon as you walked out the door.

I appreciate that! I do my best to just do my freaking job lol. And um...paper logs?? Interesting...I cant even.

I'm great along the 94/90/80 since those are usually the routes I run. I'm enjoying getting out of that area right now, but trip planning is a bit of a challenge. I got too comfortable knowing Osseo has 24/7 parking spots for the most part and things of that nature. Now I have to, ya know, work. Lol.

I usually just take what I can get. Sometimes they will let me choose, and I'm an indecisive female so it takes me good time to settle on one. Poor Matt lol.

I also whine every now and then to my dispatcher. Usually it's due to a messed up dock where one wrong move can cause some serious mass destruction. As much as I like a challenge, sometimes i know after giving it a good go that i need a bit more time under my belt to really understand tight maneuvers.

One dock i played that song "give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around" all while using profanity and nearly in tears. Took me an hour and another driver decided to help me out, but i eventually got the #### thing docked.

I called my dispatcher and vented my frustration. Then called him back and apologized lol. I felt like such a turd. It was just one of those days.

I think in the last 3 months, I know everybody on a first name basis along I 94 from Fargo to Canada, and the Indiana Toll Road, Ohio Turnpike, and New York Thruway. I could probably tell you how many barns, cows, harvesters exactly too.

Yes Osseo is a usually a guarantee. But lately I ve had to mix it up a little. Just when you find a good secret place. The next time everybody and their mother is parked there
