Well, its been a few days since I last posted. After I delivered in Altoona, I deadheaded to Chicago. At first, they wanted to me to go to Freedman s, then a few minutes later, change of plans, pick up a Dauber Chemical right off I 55 in Chicago. Quick 35 minutes there and gone, heading back to Grand Forks. When I got to the yard, it was like national moving day with people swapping out trucks. I wished they would pave our yard. Nothing like getting a new truck dusty and dirty, and dang near getting stuck in ruts and dirt speed bumps lol.

Finally got my new truck. The 20 Cascadia interior reminds you of a T680/ Volvo interior. It already had 1085 miles on it. One thing I thought that was really neat was the hood mirror cameras show the sides of the truck during turns and lane changes. The only thing I don t like about the truck is the E Coast. That s the most annoying thing Freightliner ever done to a truck. This truck also rides a whole lot better than the previous years, and quieter too.

Before I could even swap trucks, I already had a load waiting. 1700 miles from Grand Forks to North Billerica MA. So I just threw my stuff in my new truck, went over to ND Mill, and got my 44,000 lbs of flour.

For an automatic this truck pulls really well. It only dropped a gear climbing some of those steep grades along I 90 in OH, PA, NY, and MA. I m currently averaging 7.2 grossing 79,000.

I will keep you posted after I deliver in MA

The winter storm was not bad at all. The roads were mostly wet with heavy flakes and wind. Once I got to SW Chicago, it changed to rain

Just wanted to say thanks for the very informative thread, it was a great read. Does S&S run out west very often? I noticed a couple of pulls to Tacoma, but not much else.

    Thanks again

    LDYTRUCKER and bigkev1115 Thank this.

We do go out west. Its just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I ve been to CA twice to the same customer, and to WA State once. Most of the loads that goes out West are brokered loads that we cover, or to get a driver home that lives out west

We also have a few accounts that goes out that way

Today, I made it to my delivery in North Billerica. Took a nap, and got a load picking up in Plattsburg with 3 stops heading to Anniston tomorrow. 230 empty and 1230 loaded. Hopefully, I can swing by the house for a minute

Made it to Vegas. Unload in the AM and then heading to Los Angeles. From there I'll get back in my comfort zone!

Vic Firth, Lonesome and bigkev1115 Thank this.
