With this Covid going Canada will not let his fiancé cross the border. Only “essential employees” are allowed and Canada doesn’t reckonize your passenger as essential unless they are your codriver

First day is in the books. Passed my road test and it was a good ride. She may come with me when COVID quits and Canada opens back up.

Should hit the road Tuesday sometime, if they can get a couple issues with my truck figured out.

I was planning on it, but had a change of plans. I got a 2019 KW T-680.

Brian, the recruiter, told me that we get KWs if we hire on in Grand Forks and Cascadias in Anniston, AL. I really don't want another Freightliner.

    LDYTRUCKER and hotrod1653 Thank this.

It’s been an adjustment from a Cascadia to a K-Whopper, but I’m learning it.

First week in the books and it was pretty good. Went up to Pembina and Mantitoba on the first run. Came back stateside and got my truck searched, lol. Got sent out to MN and WI then got my back haul for Pembina and Winnipeg. At home now enjoying some R&R.

Gotta say I like working there so far, no complaints at all yet. Except for the guys in Winnipeg telling me I talk funny. Lol.

I m glad to read that Snow Hater and hotrod1653 are enjoying the company so far. S&S by no means a bad company. They do have some mood swings from time to time out of Grand Forks.

I am enjoying my 3rd consecutive weekend at home. Last weekend, I brought a load from Janesville to Anniston, and no one told me that New Flyer stopped receiving at 3pm on Fridays. After a phone call, and a few minutes later, was instructed to drop the load at the yard. So I dropped the load at the yard, and picked up my 4 stop load and went to the house and took a reset.

I left out last Sunday AM going to Geneseo, IL, Edgerton, MN, Ashley, ND, and finish out in Minot Tuesday afternoon. I picked up 1/2 mile away in Minot and delivered in Grand Forks the next morning. From Grand Forks I went to Casselton then to Chesterfield, MI. Then from Chesterfield to Grand Rapids back to Anniston.

I wished I had went ahead and dropped the load Saturday evening, and grabbed an empty and went back home, but had to run a few errands before the places closed. So I just stopped at the house and will drop the load at the yard in tha morning.

Not bad just shy of 3,000 miles and back home in 6 days

And far as the trucks go, normally you get asked which truck you prefer before you get to Grand Forks. The reason Anniston is mostly Cascadia's is due to the issues with KW dealer in Birmingham. I guess they didn t want to try the KW dealer in Atlanta either which is only 30 miles further than going to Birmingham

We have tried both KW places, and they both are awful. Unless you specifically buy from them, you could wait weeks for a simple fix. FL has a nationwide preferred buyer thing, so we get taken care of much quicker for our FL's here. Thats why they don't want KWs here in Anniston anymore.
