I finally made it back to SoCal yesterday. I experienced every type of weather element. First it was the wind from Utah down to Hesperia, where I stop and took my 30. As I came down Cajon, it went from rain to snow, and back to rain once I got to Mira Loma.

Talking about cold, I lived in SoCal for 3 years when I was in the Marines, but never felt it get into the upper 30s and low 40s this early in the year. So I went into the Flying J with my hoodie on, just like everyone else here.

I m about 5 miles from delivery, and don t have a preplan yet. I hope they get I 80 cleaned up in Norcal just in case I m routed back that way. Looking at the Caltrans app, they had chain control all over the place, even a few miles NE of here. I will keep you posted what happens after I deliver

Cajon can be fun and a whole climate unto itself, as you just found out. Fact is the whole “high dessert” from Vegas to Ontario can be an weather nightmare. Where you heading down there?

If you need a hidey hole away from truck stops, let me know. I got a few secret spots I’ll share with you. Lol.

Well, now that we are expanding with this contract, they are talking about getting me an actual yard dog truck, and just coming to work at the plant. But, then, they said they may pull me off because they might not want to waste a good CDL A driver on it. I told him he better not take this away from me lol.

So who knows what will happen early next year once the expansion happens. *sigh*

If he tries to take you off of it, fight it. They shouldn’t make you leave that post, unless you want too.

I’d love to see the terminal manager at Anniston if you did that. Lol.

Sorry that s its been a few days since I posted. After I delivered in Eastvale, I went back to Flying J for a few hours and then headed over to Vernon to pick up my next load to Warren, MI. I got there and they asked me did I have an empty weight ticket, I told them no since I was not told to get one. If I had known, I would ve got it a Flying J while I was there.

So after a few minutes, change of plans, did not need one, so I had to leave the premises and go a few blocks to park and wait for a door. About 30 minutes later got called and got a door assignment. Hour and a half later, loaded, got ready to leave, wrong company and trailer on bills, so I had to go back in and get paperwork redone.

So Monday I went from Mira Loma, Eastvale, Vernon, and stopped in Kingman AZ
Tuesday Kingman AZ to Vega, TX
Wednesday Vega, TX to Cuba, MO
Today Cuba, MO to Woodhaven, MI

I will get up in the morning for my 8am appointment in Warren. Hopefully, I ll be headed home so I can get my physical done, unless they want to me shut down with an expired medical card next weekend

Lonesome, LDYTRUCKER and hotrod1653 Thank this.
