@LDYTRUCKER I have a few quick questions for you:

    1. What was your first load with S and S and how far?
    2. What are the trucks set at? Not that its a big issue for me, just wondering.
    3. Where do you mostly run with the company?

    Bluedew and LDYTRUCKER Thank this.

Good for you! So nice to hear about a great family trucking company! You will do fine in the Ice & Snow just take it easy and pay attention. Good Luck on your move to ND

My first run was about 600 miles. Fargo to Janesville, WI. Then I picked up the same day in Wausaukee, WI and took that down to Alabama. All miles empty or loaded are paid. The lowest mile run I had has been 600 miles, the longest so far has been 1900. They do a lot east of the Mississippi, and no big city deliveries that I know of. Also, they pay tolls so the trucks have EZ/I Passes.

    They are governed at 67.

I greatly appreciate your response. You probably delivered to the bus plant in Oxford. Were you able to find the yard in Oxford?

Yes, they are *usually* pretty easy to find and the docks are easy access with lots of room.

    Need4Speed and bigkev1115 Thank this.

Were you the only one in your orientation class?

No. I was there with one other person. Usually they only have 1-2 from what I gathered.

    Backatit and bigkev1115 Thank this.

Chains don't protect you from the "other guy" though. No way to control the speeds they go on ice & snow. Just sayin'.

I think the "other guy" is an issue no matter what driving conditions.

I especially like when they hang back behind you, and the minute you turn your blinker on to get in front of them, say for law enforcement on the shoulder, the blinker means speed up just enough so they are now beside you. I'll take snow over those driving conditions any day, lol.

    TB John Thanks this.
