Sweet mother Mary, the Pete dealers on charge 95.00 and hour. But hey I do understand having to dig all that out and replace it tho. Makes sense once you start adding up.

Two fuel tanks drained and flushed.... all fuel lines, pick ups and pumps, as well as 3 weeks lost revenue. Thats alot.

Time to open a can of WA right away ! Don't let me catch someone doing that ! I have a real bad habit frontier justice .
silenteagle Thanks this. -
It's not just truckin'....our whole society is devolving into a "get even now" mentality. More and more retaliatory behavior and less common sense....
NavigatorWife and silenteagle Thank this. -
Cost us $1700 for 2 batteries and an alternator. Granted,.. the alt alone was $1200 at cost. So things can get expensive very quickly.
-
And where are you that the Pete dealers only charge $95? In Nashville it's $160 and Evansville $120. Cummins gets $100 on preEGR, and more money on the newer engines.
None of this takes great skill, but it's all a pain. And it takes lots of time to dig it out and replace it, without screwing up something else. Algea was a PITA, but I learned a lot about the underside of the truck.
A Prime truck is a lease, so it's off to the dealer. Probably on a hook. (another $500) -
probably cost $7950 and a week to figure out what it was and the other $50 for filters!!!
aiwiron Thanks this. -
Ahhh.... another 28 volt alt? Heard about these...... -
My shop rate is between $95-$110 depending on the shop I go to.
Unless they were replacing all the lines, etc, I don't see how it comes to $8k.
Unless.... it was a liquid contamination that passed through the filter that ruined injectors. But, that's not ashes, cigarette butts, or trash.aiwiron Thanks this. -
Its not just a "get even now" mentality. American society is crumbling around us, and the scum are rising to the top.
I personally doubt it was a disgruntled driver, although the possibility exists. It could very well have been any number of idiots who decided for whatever reason they were going to deliberately damage a truck, and this truck and driver drew the unlucky number.
We see it on the news all the time. People hurt, people killed, property damaged all for a bit of "fun" for some scumbag and his friends.48Packard and silenteagle Thank this.
