I'm going to run from Calgary to Sackville NS. My mapping program is sending me on the 101 from Wawa then onto the 144 to Sudbury. Its a bit shorter. Would it be wiser to stay on the 17? I'm not all that familiar with Ontario
Sackville NS

101 to 144 is a strange route , what mapping program are you using ?
Normal truck route is usually HWY 17 or HWY 11 through that stage of the trip , both are rough this time of year. -
Take the 17 all the way through to the 417, if you're up for some possible adventure on the hills. Or, take 11 around to the 17 at North Bay, then to the 417, if you like flat land. Personally, I would check the weather along both at Nipigon, and then decide. If it's going to be nice along the 17, stay on it. If not, go 11.

most trucks take 11 across because it is not as hilly, 17 down from Wawa to the Sault is very hilly,
Don't bother with the 101, 144, best to stay on 11 or 17 -
I'm using Streets and Trips 2010 I looked at the road with Google Earth and it looks like a jeep road. I have PC Miler 20 I think I'd better install it.

I'll map that one out. I usually run into the desert states and the East runs are something I don't want to make a habit of doing. Too many people out there. LOL

Heres a online 1 thats pretty good for being FREE.

Wawa to North Bay
Hwy 11 would be about 695 Kilometers and 8 hours Hwy 17 654 Kilometers and 6.5 hours.
Hwy 11 gets you off a few hills and away from any lake effect weather coming off Lake Superior -
Oh Yeah!! I like that one more better! Or is it...I like that one bestest?

if you arnt heavy and the weather isnt too bad i would go 17---otherwise go 11--personally i like 17 more--but like the others said its a bit more hilly
that should be a good trip--have fun--
