So I got some sad news yesterday. I wanted to my cb.. I got a connex 3300 hp pushing 62 watts. I wanted to get the connex turbo 4600 doing 200 watts. Found out it has to be wired into the batteries... It's a company truck so I don't seem them letting me.

Have they run big wires to the sleeper to send power to an inverter for 110volt goodies? If so, you should be able to tap onto those leads (the big red & big black) for power for your Connex. Just make the tap splice off somewhere that their wires are concealed, and insulate the bejesus out of the connections. Or ask the shop manager if it's OK to have them put in cables for you, even if it's at your expense. After all, unless you're a real ragchewer the high current demand of your radio will only be brief and intermittent, so it's not like you're going to be turning the batteries inside-out, or lugging down the alternator so badly that your miles-per-gallon gets cut in half. I've had a few folks bring me trucks where the official company shop ran leads on behalf of the driver(s) and that met the standards for the company.

Worth asking anyway. Then, when they turn you down, *then* you can do your stealth splicing :)

    Good luck & 73.

Our new trucks have inverters built in. So no wires show. I'll talk to shop when I get around there but I'm sure its no lol.
