Yeah, Mr Ed looks a lot like me. Speaking of looking good, hows your savings account for the down payment on all that plastic surgery you need to look human ? ( yeah, I know that was mean.........but I haven't insulted you in over a year. I think. ) :biggrin_25517:

Beyond contrary belief and the news media, truckers are pretty good people and will help a damsel in distress!

I know this is an older post, but I did want to pipe in just a bit. :) I'm not a trucker, though I am planning to get my CDL next year and team with my husband who is set to grad in a few weeks. I grew up near St Louis and there are a LOT of trucks going through there. When I was old enough to have my own car, the first thing I did was buy a CB and install it. The drivers who ran that route (I-64) often got to know my handle and my car and more than once we looked out for each other. (Yes, in my youth I may have sped sometimes and once had a mountie looking to give me a major award lol. Yes, I ended up with a truck behind me and one beside me until the "danger" had passed. I also of course would alert the area when bears were about.) One time (before GPS) I took a wrong turn somewhere are Dupo, IL and got seriously lost. I was nearing empty in my gas tank and wasn't in a good area. It was dark and cold. I was alone, female, 19 years old. I got on my CB and not only did a couple of truckers help me find a gas station, they talked to me, giving me directions until I was back safely on the interstate.
Personally, I would rather stop at a rest area with many trucks. I've never had a bad thing happen regarding big-rigs. I'd rather be on a VA highway with a load of truckers than the four-wheeler drivers we have around here!
Just my happy story of the day.
