I didnt know company's watched that closely to quick downhill spurts, I work for a food grade tanker company, now, and their technology over here isn't that great. I haven't used my safety pass thing in a while, because my truck was governed at 75.. Until I just got it out of the shop 3 days ago, now I'm going nuts at 65. I talked to the diesel doctors, they can't touch my paccar engine, he said nobody but the dealership can, the paramiters are triple password protected, is what I've read on multiple websites, and there's a scan tool that costs 5000, that the diesel doc said he hasn't got yet called the davie tool. So until I make it back by the house 4 my safety pass.. I'll just be riding beside all of you other drivers set at 64.8 mile n hour, pissing off everybody behind me, lol
safety pass pro???

Truthfully, I'm actually afraid get out in the left lane, I really hate 65 I can't get used to it, it's really not safe, i have a 10 speed, and I try to downshift early 4 uphill climbs, and the rev limiter stops me at 55 in 9th gear, this truck dosent operate well at all cut back the way they have it, I'm making them either fix it back to at least 70. Or I'm gonna start job hunting again.

You still have to log legal speeds, whether you use paper or electronic logs, doesn't make much sense to speed to a pickup or delivery only to sit and wait for your log to catch up.

All the masses of 65 mph trucks just cause congestion and frustrated drivers....
I watched a Watkins Sheppard and Schnieder have a major argument and road rage today..... glad i could run off and get out of that mess even though i was grossing over 79000.
So glad our company has no tracking and the trucks will run.
Yes,i pass the same trucks several times a day but because i have been putting off stops on the way and back on the big road.
I will be empty and home while they still putt along.... -
I bought the safety pass pro to give it a try. All it did was turn on a check engine light and disable my speedometer. I found out the hard way that the 30 day warranty starts the day of the sale and is strictly enforced, so one must be certain to subtract the shipping time from the time you are going to spend trying to get it to work. In all, including exchange on the dollar and shipping, it cost me a little over five hundred dollars to check this thing out.

Talking with the Volvo Repair shop. Guy shows me (I was inquiring) inactive fault code for visor light. Fault triggered Wed 13:24, rendered to Inactive Thurs 9:18. He asked how it became inactive.
I replaced the light! I am pretty sure he knew that... and was just showing me the detail of the log.

Instead if risking your career, why not just go to work for someone else?
I would not work for a company that limited me to say, 58 mph. 65 I can live with. Or, you can but your own truck, go o/o and problem solved.
The only reason I really commented here was that it occurs to me that disabling features in someone else's property that they want on... Seems kinda disrespectful to me. If you really hate it, quit.WitchingHour Thanks this. -
Exactly. Avoid slow trucks by not driving them.
Manufacturers have gotten wise to devices such as Safety Pass Pro, and they have strict anti-tampering controls now.... in many cases, they're set by default from the factory. If you have a 2010 or newer truck and this device works, I'm guessing you have a Cummins and they never turned that feature on.
As for Davie, all of our settings are preprogrammed into software updates downloaded through Davie 4. If there's a way to change them manually, I'm unaware of it. The original Davie, you could, but it's not compatible with the newer PACCAR engines... I think 2012 or 2013 was the last MY it was, and even then, it may have been rendered ineffective by software updates for those engines since.
