Cowboy77,
The major carrier recruiters give their presentations at Sage; Knight/Squire, Swift, Werner, etc.
I have pre-hire offers from Central Refrigerated and May Trucking. And, I am submitting applications at three local carriers with which a close friend has "contacts." My final decision will be made within the next week.
Will you be attending in Caldwell, Idaho?

Looking at attending in Blackfoot, Idaho
-
Big MACC the only thing that really worries me about the Blackfoot School is they are not accredited by PTDI. Caldwell is and they have the same program, but it cost additional money for they to have Blackfoot accredited. So even if I get the same quality of course, will companies look at it differently? I don't know. I was told that all the same companies that you mentioned that come to Caldwell, also come to recruite in Blackfoot. So I guess I'll see.
My real goal is to head to ND for a while and give it a shot and try and get some experience there before looking to a company. This may lead me to a more local company, but again I guess I'll see. -
I may be able to answer your question, check this out http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ing-schools/18658-ptdi-certified-schools.html Hope this helps and Sage is a great school to attend the instructors in Caldwell atleast are extremely helpful and they make class fun so you actually learn the stuff.

Oil field service companies seldom require specific certified training. They typically require you to possess a CDL A license with the necessary endorsements, Tanker being the most common.
Keep us posted and good luck in your new career! -
Great job, so far!
I have read good things only about Sage, all there diferent locations seem to have a good reputation. So if you go to other states, people will have head abou it. Makes it easier on you if you reloacate.
Myself, I will probibly be going to the Indianapolis location in a few weeks, after I pass my written tests, studding on my own. I like the large city driving that I will be doing, also starting in the winter, then driving in the summer will be easy. You drive more in the summmer. The only draw back is the lack of winter mountain driving.
So what, our trainning terminal is located inside the Snider? truck terminal.
Below is a very detailed blog, written by a SAGE truck driving student, makes it easy on you if you read it first, before going to school.

Just started today at sage in Henderson, CO
We have 4 people in our 'class' that started today, and another 4 from last week that are still doing their class hours. started a blog, and will try to keep it updated but i'm guessing the first week will be mostly working in the PTDI manual. I took my CDL permit tests last week so i would have it before school but ran into a snag so I'm waiting for it to get cleared up

To the person inquiring about Sage School in Kingman, Az. That school had a big shakeup a few monthes ago. First, the Director of some 5 years resigned suddenly. Within a few monthes their two best instructors also resigned. Those two were replaced by guys who have alot of experience but very little abilty to instruct. Tom and Julius seem to be more interested in sharing their personal stories than actually instructing. Their most senior instructor, Sam, is a very good instructor when he is interested and if he likes you. It has become alot more difficult to get a decent CDL education there since Jim and Paul left. That does not mean that you won't get your CDL. You see, they figure you won't know the difference because you really don't. All I can say is be prepared to do alot of extra work on your own, especially on the range. They don"t help alot out there. They leave you to your own devices most of the time.
Hope this helps. Good luck. -
i used the peterbilt on my road test when i was there
