Hello, currently a driver for Walmart. Running local (as of now). We were informed that walmart will no longer offer local positions at all. So now I'm stuck with having to go back OTR or change jobs. If I go OTR (regional) I'll be on a 5/2 5/3 schedule. Guys on that typically make average of 85k+ yr. I did it my first yr and made 96k. We are going thru lots of changes and soooo many rumors and possibly taking cuts in pay are going around.

So I have seen this hiring event for saia pop up and was wondering if anybody can give me info on what to expect for a yearly salary for them? How is the health insurance? (I'm single, no kids) other perks?

Even though my life style doesn't require me to be home I still enjoy it. Thanks for any information or suggestions

Ask that same question on this other forum. I think one of the active drivers there works at that terminal: Saia

I think it might be a good place to run out of. I believe that's one of their monster terminals.

Walmart will have those shortly. We are getting forward facing ones as of now. I'm certain lots of carriers will eventually go to them.

Second that. OD is in the process of adding about 1000 new doors between 3 terminals in the DFW area. Gonna need lots more drivers.

True. I'd try them before Saia. Saia is by no means a last resort, but OD should be at the top of the list. The Saia guys are becoming more and more disgruntled lately from what I've noticed, but OD guys seem universally happy there.

Yeah me and another driver both applied and both got turned down by OD. They were first on my list

@dboy817 Be persistent my friend and you will achieve it. Show OD how bad you want this job, it might sound cliche but it truly works. Good luck

From my Saia source. Keep your cell phone in your bag. That’s how strict they are with the camera. They pay very well Linehaul though but very strict with the camera. You can make easily 100k working 6 days a week home daily.
