Saia has driver facing cams. I spent 8 years with R&L. Not a bad company but ALOT depends on Service Center Manager. A good one makes a big difference . P&D work is very different from OTR. If you’re going linehaul, R&L is one of the few LTL’s where the city guys generally make more than line haul. Linehaul guys are paid a flat rate per run, nothing extra for D&H or fueling, etc. which R&l. Facility are you looking at?

Linehaul is less affected by the SCM. Central dispatch has more control. The night dispatcher you work for at the terminal can affect you still though so be nice. Unless you’re a system driver or team all linehaul is out and back. Either meet for a swap at a truck stop or go to a terminal and turn back. You’ll probably have to share a truck with a daytime guy and may slipseat everyday till you get established . All runs pay a specific flat rate, no cpm
MACK E-6 Thanks this.
