Anybody know someone in Alberta who does salvage inspections? Looking to talk about what’s involved. Got a 97 kenworth thinking about repairing. Thanks

This link goes through what is required.
If you google salvage inspections and your location you will get places that handle these inspections.

I’m on the fence whether I should do it on an old truck . If he starts unplugging every wiring harness and the break . Then I’m on the hook for a ton of cash.

Yeah, no sorry.
My understanding is it has to be done at a facility that is licensed for salvage inspections. I have only looked at having g a vehicle salvaged once and it was not worth the hassle to me for the vehicle in question. (Antique car). -
They shouldn't have to unhooked harnesses or anything. The focus is more on vehcile safety. Ie frame, lights etc.

The link above has what the mechanic looks at for the inspection, so that should give you an idea as to what will need to be addressed.

I've never been involved in heavy truck salvage inspections, just automotive.
It has to be done at a licensed alberta inspection facility. The vehicle must be fit for the road.
The body shop I've been dealing with is xtreme truck and body..
If your in the Edmonton area, also check out red ram truck parts.
It's a heavy truck wrecking yard, with a service dept. They have experience with re certs.Isafarmboy and Albertaflatbed Thank this.
