Which lights? Most of them are unfused logic controlled outputs.

I have a 2015 cacadia the right tail light was staying on, even with the switch off. The only way to kill it was to kill battery power. Took it to freightliner when I got home. Told them they have the weekend to figure it out. They emailed me 6 hours later. Sam's chassis failed, there is also a recall on some 2014, and newer cascadias. My extended warranty covered all.

FYI, the original poster's issue with "power surges" is likely the fuse in the fuse box located on the firewall, right near where the steering column exits the cab. there is a (remote sense) fuse located there for the alternator remote sense. if the fuse wiggles loose, the alternator will register truck voltage as low, and will crank the voltage up as high as it can to compensate. the fix is to either replace the fuse box. I've heard some people just shove a piece of cardboard in the cover before snapping it on to keep the fuse from popping out.

I don't agree with him at all. It is a motor, an engine is a type of motor. There are many different types of engines, but the general term for any power plant is motor. I'll jump on my engine cycle and ride off now.
