Some TA removed the full service buffet and left the soup and salad bar, too which you can eat all you want when you purchase a Entre'. Others have the free 2nd helping in lew of a "all you can stuff in you". I have noticed some TA's are privately owned (Sweetwater, Tx and don't follow the same rules). Petro has all you can eat Buffet including soup and salad or the Salad Bar is one trip with Entre' as mentioned by the OP. If you want a good Steak I think Petro is Better. Any way why should a person need to eat to the point of bloating.

A 175 Lb 5'10" male will need about 3000 calories per day unless he is trying to gain weight. Normal healthy active Adult
A 400 lb 5' 8" trucker will need about 9000 calories to sustain his weight! thats three times the daily ave. WOW! eating your self to an early grave!
A 100 lb 5'6" female will need about 1500 calories per day. she spends her day eating very small snacks and a very light dinner. Skinny girlfriend.
A 220 lb 5'6' pregnant female is eating for two!

Recently both TA or Petro have been working on helping drivers get the right nutrition and they added Heart Healthy Alternative Selections.

The T/A in Breezewood, PA is doing this too. I think they are selling Maxwell House from concentrate. They are probably doing this so they dont have to pay someone to mess around cleaning the coffee machines and brewing coffee during busy hours. Im really surprised that Pilot hasnt started doing this. This type of concentrated instant coffee is "supposed" to be almost as good as fresh-brewed. The Fifth Wheels in Canada are using this, but I cant remember the brand off-hand. I actually love that coffee.

    Because salad is good.
..and chicken noodle soup is awesome.

Some times you can't eat just one.

I had started talking to a Driver after we attended Orientation, We had a lot of conversations about where he was heading and where he planned on filling up. He would say things like this place and that place have the best this and the best that. After a while he started repeating himself over and over about the food at the town at Mile Marker Blah Blah... and then it became sad. He was lonely and was using food and developed a personal relation with Sausage Buscuits and Gravy. I commented to him he should stay away from so much sausage that it was high in cholesteral. He got offended when I said he should be careful because at his age 62 and being 320 lbs. He replied it's too late and he would eat what ever he wanted. He didn't care, food was his best friend.

I know Sometimes, too much of a good thing can bite you in the behind. It's like this guy who eats so much they have to cut the wall down so he can be extracted to the Hospital for Gastric Bypass.

Food is not a problem for millions and yet others are compusive over eaters and need help. Like Smoking and Booze , food can abused and only profeesional help can stop distructive behavior
