If I had held it in for a period of time I'm sure I could have held it in another 4mins!! Doesn't Sam's have a Bathroom for the Driver's?? The way I see it your Trainer is at Fault not you. After all you were Instructed by your Trainer to do a "Pit Stop" Let this be a lesson learned at your Unexperienced so called Trainer's exspence. Remember a "Window Time" is a "Window Time". And never forget that you will always have an #####-Hole on every dock that thinks he/she ###### don't stink. Planning your trip "Correctly" is the key to every trip. You might want to explain that to your Trainer!! Good Luck and be Safe!!

If a message came through from dispatch (either by QC or text) then it shouldn't count against either driver. If you got a phone call, then no record of it and you could be hosed...

And someone posted earlier ?'ng the 4 miles in 1/2 hour. I've done as little as .7 miles in a 1/2 an hour. Sometimes traffic SUX!!!

But the OP does have one thing right. Good attitude can carry you a long way when there is a screw-up. Whether it is your fault or not, take ownership of the problem and try to assure the 'victim' that you will do everything within your power to fix it. Treating them like people, rather than just another drop, is as nice as them treating you like a person rather than just another truck.

There is a Pilot and a Petro less than a mile from the University Park Sams DC (Monee, IL exit on I-57). If you had gone there instead of the rest area 5 miles to the south, you would have been able to deliver on time. My policy is that I park as close as possible to my delivery if I'm going to have to wait for my appointment time to come around and go in

Okay, I didn't read that deep. Kind of pertinent info that should of been in the first post.

Yeah, Monee Pilot and Petro is right down the street from Sam's. No parking there you can go down Central and find a side street. There's a few you can park on. I deliver back there all the time in University Park Industrial Park. There's even a cold warehouse about a mile on the left with open parking and no guard shack. You could sneak in there and sleep as there is always twenty trucks in there. Park in the lot past the double whse.

So when do truckers get the psychic ability to see into the future?
They were 4 miles away, and 6 hours before their delivery time.
Who would honestly think there would be a traffic issue to eat up their 6 hours buffer that close to the drop?

No, there was nothing about the interstate being shut down until their 3rd post. They said they shutdown at the picklepark with no explanation until later you read about the truck wreck. I should of read all but sometimes I comment on the first post. No biggie.

You can't ursus, but it is nice to wake up and crawl in the customers gate without getting back on the interstate. Isn't their scales there too or is that just southbound? I usually approach from the north and Monee is far as I go. That section of I-57 I never run.
