This will be option 3 if Oakland and Hayward don't pan out.

Would I be right in assuming every time I cross the SF Bay on a bridge, Ill be coming out of pocket for tolls?

Here's a Bay Area toll schedule. Tolls are collected one-way. I think the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge tolls are for westbound traffic and the Golden Gate (which you won't be using going in) tolls are for southbound traffic.
So you get out of town for free. The tolls are nothing compared to New York!

I looked for the SF CMV parking ordinance and couldn't find it. Google-Earthed your drop. It does look parkable, but . . . safe? I couldn't say.
You can't know if a place is safe until the moment it isn't. Just be glad you're not making multi stops in SF with doubles! Err, I hope you're not.
    Cheers.

The only "bad" area around Frisco is by Hunters Point IIRC......It's only "bad" because it's surround by poor neighborhoods.....Looked like a high class Compton when I dropped a load of frac sand for the environmental clean-up over at the shipyards.

I wish I could park by Little Joe's and have homemade Italian or, park in Japan Town for sushi and Saki....:biggrin_25525:

As much as I disagree with the politics of San Fran....The various cuisines make up for wackos.......

If you are coming in from the east via 580 there is parking at the Eden Canyon Road exit before the 238 split. It's qiuet & I've never been hassled there.

You can overnight in front of the Oakland Coliseum. I've never done it, but I see lots of trucks parking there.

In San Leandro take Marina (from 880) west to Merced (I think) & turn south on Merced. Merced wiggles around to the west & becomes Wicks. There will be side streets off to your right where you can park. There is a huge Sears discount store right where Merced starts to turn into Wicks, you can park on that street, I'm not sure they will hassle you if you park in the huge lot that's always empty there. If you make a circle around Davis and Marina there is a nice little neighborhood where there are small grocery stores & various restaurants. You can't overnight there but you're OK during the day to shop & eat. I think Doolittle is the cross street down there, look at a map. There is a small CFN on the corner of Davis & the street where the shops are.

Closer to SF if you take 380 between 101 & 280 then take El Camino Real north to S. Spruce St. Then turn right (east) on S. Spruce & go down til you see a Jack In The Box. Turn right into the parking lot before the Jack In The Box (There is actually an Asian restaurant between the JIB & the driveway) You may be able to park behind the restaurant. I haven't used this one in a while, so I can't guarantee that everything is still the same & I would try to get there at night.

I have a couple of others but I would almost have to be driving to find them

Wow! Thanks, Boardhauler! Folks headed to the Bay Area--maybe for the first time--should save your post.

Do Not take the GG Bridge. They are doing construction on the SF side & it's a total cluster bomb. I think you have to be 65' too.

You can take 680 to 580 & stop at Eden Canyon as I described in my first post or you can park at Red Top Road on 80 just west of Fairfield. There's a Jack In The Box and a convenience store there. You may be able to park at the next exit- American Canyon Rd. as well. There is a way to loop around from Red Top to Hwy 12 west & there used to be a parking area up on 12. I haven't tried that in many years so look at a map first.

If you can go a few miles out of route you can just take 880 to 238 & head up to Eden Canyon. From there or the places I mentioned in San Leandro you will be about 30-45 minutes out, traffic permitting.

Well, I ended up chancing it and I'm currently parked at my first drop. I'm nicely nestled in between a half dozen other trucks with no "no parking" signs in sight.:yes2557:

So along with all the other suggestions (many of which I checked out along the way) you can add Toland street between Oakdale and Jerrold as a viable overnight parking spot in the bay area. For the GPS folks... use 529 Toland st, San Francisco, CA.

Many thanks to all who took the time to help!!

P.S. I did learn one thing... I'll NEVER, NEVER, NEVER make the trip from Reno to the bay area on a Sunday afternoon during ski season again!:biggrin_25516::biggrin_25516: :biggrin_25516::biggrin_25516:
