Portal is bad because it is a 2 lane nightmare and the trucks can be backed up and cause you a delay of an hour. It is also a training base.

I mention permits because my company does not have them as listed running I guess.

We have to buy permits in Sask. Manitoba requires it when over 26,000.

The bad part on 75 is right after the point they rebuilt it. It is a little farther north and is a major slow construction zone. Then on the west loop around Winnipeg the last bridge is under construction and you have crawl on it at 5 km.

I would stay away from Winnipeg. They completely lack the ability to keep the roads in any semblance of anything drivable. There is one plough in the entire provice and only works 8 hours a day. Sorry rant over.

ok i understand the permit now--even where they rebuilt it--it was under water the next spring---and it really dropped in some places--hopefully weather is good when you go up there--it can get pretty windy around winnipeg and #### cold--it would always seem that i would get the wind as soon as i hit the ont/mb border and the sucker would freeze my nads off--nicer when you turn south of wpg tho
and i finally saw my first snow flake today---cant say i miss the snow

I'll have the city tomorrow ...

I'm not sure just yet but they did say it was just across the border where ever it is ...

I'll be HAZMAT Tank so permits would be crazy expensive I would imagine

Best way there is to go through north portal on us 52. You can go I29 to US 2 to 52. This route has no scales on it. the I94 to us 52 has a scale just west of Fargo.

Regina is about 125 miles into Canada from Portal. There is a scale just north of Estevan in Canada. I rarely see it open though.

    That sucks.

Grand Forks ND three truck stops.

At Kenmare, ND there is a small fuel stop.

Estevan, SK there is a Husky fuel stop. room for about 50 trucks.

Weyburn SK there is a co op fuel stop just north of the town.

Regina. Not much. There is a small stop on Ring Road on the north side. Not much help there since I never stop there.
