I just wanna make sure I'm clear about sat radio. When I'm tuned into a station, I could drive across the country and not lose that signal, correct? That is my biggest complaint about fm. I hate when I'm tuned into a good station and leave it's broadcast area, I have to search the airwaves to find another good station. Problem there is it takes my attention off the road.

DodgeRam, we had a Sirius radio in our little SUV and listened to the same station (80's music, I think) all the way from Raleigh, NC to Dallas, TX. Never lost the signal once. I think when I get my own truck, I'm going to have to get sat. radio again. I wonder if they give multi-radio discounts also?

Whichever one you get, make sure you have a radio that is Satellite compatable so you can just plug it into eachother and not have to worry about finding a station with nothing on it to pick up your signal.

almost all of the Sat. radio units have FM transceivers built in, plug it into your cig. lighter, power it up, match the FM signal on the sat. unit to your radio, preset that freq. on your stereo and away you go.
do not use the "mouse" mag mount antenna that come with the radios, spend the cash and get one of the truck spec mirror mount antenna and mount it as high as possible (without goign over 13'6) and your set.
you will lose sat. signal, and will get some FM bleed over in some areas, you learn to deal with it. I have three different FM pre-set's for my radio so I can jump to and adjust to them if I have a problem.
Sirius/Xm have raised their rates twice this year, it used to cost me $89.00 for 3 radios every 3 months, this last time it was $105. for 3/3, I guess next time around it will be $125. -
Gosh, you would think they wouldn't raise them to encourage folks to keep it longer.

I've always ran the OEM antenna with very few problems. I even get signal inside my wood walls/roof garage.
And if you spend the $20 to $25 to get a FM adapter to where the signal goes direct from the sat radio to the truck radio you will never go back to using the FM transmitter!Les2 Thanks this. -

Like the same kind of input jack where I plug my iPod into? It's like one of those little 1/8 inch cables with a male plug on both sides. Does that work for a sat. radio too?? Sweet Bird!!!
